Announcing their marriage at the beginning of the year, Kenneth Ma (馬國明) and Roxanne Tong (湯洛雯) plan to hold their wedding in the second half of 2023. Despite Kenneth leaving the planning of their big day to Roxanne, the 49-year-old is already certain that he wants 2 kids, and would “put family over career anytime”!
Roxanne Influenced Him to Share Personal Moments on IG
Super loving since making their romance public, the two have already tried co-habiting to prepare for marriage and even shared that they’d address each other as “hubby” and “wifey”. While he usually kept a low profile in his past relationships, Kenneth is more open to sharing his personal moments with Roxanne due to her influence. The former engineer admits that his social media used to be “all about promoting dramas or work” and would hardly involve anything personal, “being with Roxanne has made me feel like if there is anything happy that everyone will like, that can spread happiness, it is okay to share them,”
Heaping praise on Roxanne for being someone who is simple, and also caring towards her family, Kenneth revealed even something as simple as having ice cream would make her feel delighted! The two have gotten along so well, precisely because both share the same pursuit of simple joys in life.
Kenneth as Stay-at-home Dad?
With wedding bells on the way, are the two ready to embrace the next milestone of marriage? Kenneth feels that give and take between husband and wife is key, and says he and Roxanne have already reached a consensus to “grow old together, with one or two kids”, as he explains, “Parents will always leave one day, it’s lonely to leave a single child behind. Having a brother or sister means having someone to talk things over. So, the perfect family is just four of us together in good health, that’d be great,”
With good friends Raymond Lam (林峯), Bosco Wong (黃宗澤) and Ron Ng (吳卓羲) actively making a name for themselves in the mainland Chinese market, Kenneth admits that he is also tempted, but chooses to work hard on dramas at TVB, while occasionally heading north where work opportunities arise – since family to him is a bigger priority. “For me, family is above career…say after this we’d have kids after marriage, then maybe I’d cut my original drama output from three a year, to just two. A happy family is definitely more important than a successful career”, said the Aquarius actor.
