Zhao Liying and Cheng Yi to Star in New Historical Romance?

Currently with a series of productions still yet to air including The Legend of Shen Li <與鳳行> and Tiger Wolf Road <虎狼之路>, Zhao Liying (趙麗穎) is said to be reuniting with former costar Cheng Yi (成毅) in a new historical drama.

In the upcoming romantic tragedy Seductive <媚色動人>, Zhao Liying will be stretching her acting skills by playing a character with a dual personality. Originally a charming and vivacious princess, she later becomes a humble and forbearing woman after marriage.

Zhao Liying made a name for herself since The Journey of Flower <花千骨> and Legend of Lu Zhen <陸貞傳奇>. She had initially collaborated with Cheng Yi in 2015’s Noble Aspirations <誅仙青雲志>, but the actor only played a supporting role and they had very little onscreen interaction together.  Rumor has it that Cheng Yi was always in pursuit of an opportunity to work with Zhao Liying again.

Cheng Yi’s popularity took time to develop but his dedication and hardworking attitude eventually led to better opportunities. His acclaimed performance in 2019’s Love and Redemption <琉璃> cemented his leading status. The actor still has two series that have yet to air, The Lotus Casebook <蓮花樓> and Story of Heroes <英雄志>, but fans are excited to see him pair up with Zhao Liying in a new drama.
