“Queen of News” Cast Throws Charmaine Sheh a Birthday Party
For Charmaine Sheh’s (佘詩曼) 48th birthday, the cast of Queen of News < News新聞女王> surprised her with a celebration after filming on May 27. Selena Lee (李施嬅), Samantha Ko (高海寧), Venus Wong (王敏奕), Matthew Ho (何廣沛), Niklas Lam (林正峰), and producer Chung Cheng (鍾澍佳) sang Happy Birthday as they pushed out three big custom cakes which Samantha purchased, as well as two flower bouquets and a huge birthday card.
Selena also ordered Charmaine’s favorite cuisine, Thai food, for the celebration. “I remember the first day I was filming outdoors with Charmaine. I heard her say that she liked Thai food, especially the pomelo salad. I checked her schedule and knew she was filming on set so I decided to order Thai for our dinner.”
Charmaine excitedly added, “Selena has a great memory—she’s really sweet! I was tricked! Samantha came to say goodbye after finishing filming in the morning, but it turns out that everyone were great actors. I’m really happy–we’ve been filming our office scenes for almost a month so we’ve come to know each other really well like family! I’ve been having a lot of fun filming. I’m very thankful that everyone planned this birthday party for me. It’s a different type of happiness to be able to work during your birthday–it gives me a lot of energy! Before I blew out my candles, I made a wish regarding our Queen of News crew.”
Charmaine’s fans also prepared birthday celebration for the actress as well. They sent a birthday cake, fruit, beverages, and other items for her and the crew.

Having people remembering your birthday and taking trouble to organised celebration is a big blessing… I clearly did not train the boys in my house well….
Idk – they look kinda cute together and Matthew has a thing for older women. Why not. It’s fresh young meat for her lol.
But with the way he held her in the above photo – it’s obvious he doesn’t see her that way, even if his words say otherwise. It’s more of like she’s my big respected sis kinda message.
