Bowie Cheung and Benjamin Yuen Expecting Their First Child
Married for close to three years, celebrity couple Benjamin Yuen (張寶兒) and Bowie Cheung (張寶兒) are now parents-to-be! Breaking the news with an ultrasound scan photo on Instagram, Bowie shared her gratefulness at entering parenthood, while Benjamin sweetly addressed his child, “You (coming into our lives) has brought us immense joy”.
Sending their congratulations are celebrity friends and acquaintances of the couple, including Nancy Wu (胡定欣), Mandy Wong (黃智雯), Tavia Yeung (楊茜堯), Myolie Wu (胡杏兒), Priscilla Wong (黃翠如), Alice Chan (陳煒), Joel Chan (陳山聰) and others!
Benjamin is a Chill Dad-to-Be?
Looking radiant at a recent event for Miss Hong Kong Pageant 2023 recruitment, Bowie did not appear to be showing yet, and was still spotted wearing 4-inch heels. The 2016 Miss HK contestant and “Miss Friendly” winner for that year explained that the heels were very stable, and that she only changed out of her flat sandals to heels at the venue itself.
Having just visited the gynecologist who said her pregnancy is “stable”, Bowie immediately shared the good news with followers. Recounting the first trimester, the 31-year-old experienced changes in appetite such as preferring mild-tasting to seasoned foods, and being more inclined towards carb-heavy foods, in addition to mild symptoms of bloatedness and nausea.
While the couple were ready to welcome children, they did not make deliberate plans but rather left things up to fate. Confident that his wife can take good care of herself, Ben is not overly anxious about the first-time pregnancy, though he would still stop her when he spotted her lifting heavy items or stepping over barriers at home. Asked about their family plans, she did not name how many children the couple intends to have but added they will “test the waters first” with baby no. 1!
Yet to Name Baby
Had their child been conceived while she was on work assignments in the mainland? Bowie replied it was not likely, as they were busy “flying about” during that period. Intending to spend more time at home to rest in upcoming days, she shared that she will first free up space at home for the new bundle of joy, so as not “intrude” on her own apparel wardrobe nor Benjamin’s work studio! Afraid of being idle, Bowie expressed that she will leave her work arrangements to the company, but is keen to continue taking on assignments, provided they are safe.
As fans have nicknamed the couple all along as “Yuan Bo (meaning “ingot”) using a word from their respective names, they have so far been addressing the baby as “Yuan Bobo” (little ingot)! Excited for the couple, many friends and netizens have already sharing pregnancy experiences with the new parents-to-be!
