Lau Dan Doesn’t Know if Yang Mi Keeps in Touch with Her Daughter
Lau Dan (劉丹) recently attended a promotion event for Come Home Love: Lo and Behold <愛回家之開心速遞> and shared that his granddaughter Little Sticky Rice (小糯米) went on a vacation with his son Hawick Lau (劉愷威). In front of the curious reporters, Lau Dan also revealed tidbits of Little Sticky Rice’s relationship with her mother Yang Mi (楊冪).
Recently Hawick took Little Sticky Rice to Canada for a vacation and bumped into a few fans who took their pictures. When asked if Lau Dan agrees with netizen’s claims that his granddaughter resembles Yang Mi, Lau Dan responded, “I don’t know. Some people say so, but I think she looks more like her dad.”
Most interestingly, when the reporter asked if Little Sticky Rice has been video calling her mother, Lau Dan responded, “I really don’t know.”
When the reporter brought up that Hawick said Little Sticky Rice has grown up and takes more care in her appearances. Lau Dan offered his own insight and said, “She likes to comb her hair and likes to choose her own accessories. Her aesthetic choices can sometimes be a little strange.”
Since Lau Dan is living with Little Sticky Rice, he shared that his granddaughter has been getting good marks at school and he would help her with homework during his spare time. When asked if Little Stick Rice wants to go visit Beijing to be with her mother, Lau Dan responded, “Summer vacation is ending. She needs to concentrate on her school again.”

Very diplomatic answer but clearly a very loving grandfather. YangMi made the right decision to leave her daughter in the care of the best people. No point getting full custody and getting nannies to bring up Sticky rice dumpling since she is earning money and working. She is not a good mother but she is not a bad person.
Guess we will never know what is happening. But up front, she’s really distanced from her daughter and she seem unbothered about it.
I don’t like how the media always gives cutesy names for children of these celebs. They have real names that get ignored and then they are left with stupid nick names when they are all grown up.
But all Chinese kids have what is called small names 小名…And YangMi’s daughter “小名” is 糯米团… That is how everyone knew her as from born…I guess they just stick to using it. No need to expose her real name to be honest.
I dont have a 小名 when I was a kid thru… My son has one.. “Derpy Boy” his dad gave him this name…
