The Stars of “A Good Day to Be a Dog” Share Filming Challenges
Starring Park Gyu Young, Cha Eun Woo and Lee Hyun Woo, South Korean drama A Good Day to Be a Dog has successfully premiered. For the drama’s promotional event, the cast sat down to share funny stories of how they ate pet food and bit on ice cubes to prepare for filming.
In the romantic fantasy drama, Park Gyu Young plays a woman who is cursed to turning into a dog after a kiss. Meanwhile, Cha Eun Woo plays a man who can break the curse, except for one problem – he is terrified of dogs!
It was not an easy filming experience for Cha Eun Woo as the actor had scenes where he shared a kiss with a dog. As it was difficult to get the dog to concentrate and follow the script, Cha Eun Woo confessed to applying pet treats on his lips to get the dog to lick him. The actor shared, “It was the first time in my life to try it, but pet treat is not tasty. I felt like I also turned into a dog.”
The filming for the drama took place in the winter and there were challenges with filming in the cold. In order to not make fogs and make the scenes look better while delivering their lines, the cast kept an ice cube in their mouth prior to filming.
Park Gyu Young had a lot of lines and shared that she had to use a lot of ice cubes. Cha Eun Woo added that although the weather wasn’t ideal, Park Gyu Young only had thin layers to match with the script’s summer and early fall setting. Everyone was trying to avoid creating too much fog during the filming and tried very hard to not tremble from the cold.
