How Alice Chan Earned Her Nickname “Big Brother Wai”
Hosted by Shaun Tam (譚俊彥), Star Cooking (星級煮意) invites different celebrities to discuss their acting experiences while cooking food. In the latest episode, Alice Chan (陳煒) showed off her great cooking skills and talked about her grueling 48-hour filming days.
Nicknamed “Big Brother Wai (煒哥),” Alice expressed that the moniker was given to her by cast and crew members when she was still relatively new to the industry, as a reflection of her work ethic, courage, and strong-mindedness.
On the most difficult filming project she took part in, Alice expressed Deep in the Realm of Conscience (宮心計2深宮計) was the most demanding drama in her career. Besides wearing heavyset ancient costumes and hefty headgear in the summer, the filming hours were awfully long. Many artistes often had to film over 30 hours straight.
However, nothing tops Forensic Heroes IV (法證先鋒IV), where Alice did not sleep or rest for 48 hours straight. In the two-day span, she filmed more than 100 hundred scenes.
