“Olympic Six Stars” Gets 2024 Update
With the Paris Olympics officially kicking off on 26th July, TVB has plans to harness the sporting hype by introducing its refreshed “Olympic Six Stars” (新奧運六星).
Amid swirling talk, TVB is said to be forming a new Olympic Six Stars group made up of three male and three female artistes, who will be tasked to host a new swimming program.
Netizens have been fondly reminded of the original “Olympic Six” lineup, who debuted on the eve of the Athens 2004 eighteen years ago, and had comprised then up-and-comers Raymond Lam (林峯), Sammul Chan (陳鍵鋒), Bosco Wong (黃宗澤), Lai Lok-yi (黎諾懿), Ron Ng (吳卓羲) and Kenneth Ma (馬國明) – all of whom have attained a degree of career recognition and success in their respective industries, though Sammul has since left showbiz.
Fast forward to 2024 — names who have been thrown up include 35-year-old Telford Wong (黃庭鋒), 26-year-old Danny Hung (孔德賢), 32-year-old Leonard Cheng (鄭衍峰) for the gentlemen, and for the ladies, 26-year-old Tiffany Lau (劉穎鏇), 27-year-old Roxanne Ho (何沛珈) and 29-year-old Honey Ho (何泳芍), are expected to hold the fort.
Performers from both seasons of Stars Academy <聲夢傳奇> have been included on the program’s celeb guest list, while athletically-inclined celebrities such as “Crazy Runners” clique formed of members Joel Chan (陳山聰), Benjamin Yuen (袁偉豪), Jack Wu (胡诺言), Nancy Wu (胡定欣), Paisley Wu (胡蓓蔚) and Elaine Yiu (姚子羚) will also bring their athletic muscle to the game!
