“Family by Choice” Unfolds Story of Prefabricated Family
Cdrama Go Ahead <以家人之名> was raved about with its relatable story of 3 kids from different backgrounds, brought together by circumstances to form their own “family”. Set to premiere on October 9, the Korean remake titled Family by Choice 조립식 가족 is sending waves of excitement among viewers and fans!
A Story of Romance and Tension
Gracing the small screen will be True Beauty’s Hwang In Yeop, The Golden Spoon’s Jung Chae-yeon, Our Blues’ Bae Hyun-sung, and also veteran actors Choi Won-young and Choi Moo-sung as the two dads, the dream casting has already generated much interest since officially confirmed!
The Cdrama hit Go Ahead unfolds the story of three children of diverse families unrelated by blood, who are brought up by two “dads” and go through their teens together.
In the remake, the central characters’ strong companionship and bonds fostered during a shared adolescence up has allowed them to find peace with their childhood, despite the trauma from their respective origin families. Unlike the original, the Korean drama will purportedly have a heavier romantic arc, leaving viewers curious about the entanglements between the three extraordinary “siblings” and best friends.
Solid Casting
Given their respective successful drama outputs in recent years, the three lead actors’ onscreen interpretation of their roles will be yet another reason to tune in!
Surrounded by circumstances he cannot reveal, the dashing Kim San-Ha (Hwang In-youp) keeps a distance from his dad Dae-Uk (Choi Won-young). Jung Chae-yeon plays Yun Joo Won, the daughter of a noodle restaurant. She considers San-ha and Kang Hae Joon, who is brought home by her dad, as family though they aren’t biologically related, despite what others say. Hae Joon (Bae Hyun-Sung), who is brought up lovingly by Joo Won’s father, practises basketball passionately in order to repay him one day. Sam-Ha leaves the two one day and returns only after 10 years, setting the premise for the story.
I love Go Ahead alot… I wonder how the Korean version will play? Interesting.
