Vincent Wong Signs with Chinese Company
Leaving TVB after 17 years, actor Vincent Wong (王浩信) turned his career focus to the mainland. Recently, he signed on to Chinese company TH Entertainment, which produces its own drama and variety programmes, and counts Stephy Qi (戚薇), Annabel Yao (姚安娜) and Arthur Chen Feiyu (陳飛宇) among its artistes.
Discussions on New Drama Projects Are Underway
Announcing the news on its Weibo page, the company’s post read, “We welcome Vincent Wong onboard the big family at TH Entertainment, here’s to a journey of fellowship and a brand new chapter ahead.”
In an exclusive interview, the 41-year-old Xinjiang-born actor revealed, “I handed all my mainland jobs to them, including all dramas and media arrangements, they also have many dramas that are very suitable for me, so we have been in discussions on scripts and also variety programmes,”
The artiste, who currently has a per series contract with TVB, adds, “The company has also been very good and will give me the flexibility to handle my own jobs in Hong Kong,”
Sharing his openness to collaborating with other artistes under the group, Vincent points out that as a Hong Kong artiste, he hopes to have the chance to explore more possibilities in both dramatic themes and characters, rather than be limited to portraying just Hong Kongers, and also hopes to work with different actors.”
As his latest TVB drama Darkside of the Moon <黑色月光> has already started airing in Hong Kong, Vincent shared that he will be back to join in publicity efforts once he wraps up his pending jobs on-hand, and completes the handover process for the contractual proceedings!
