Hera Chan and Joey Law on Filming “Rose Business 4”
Working together for the first time in Rosy Business 4 <巾幗梟雄之懸崖>, Joey Law (羅天宇) and Hera Chan (陳曉華) share a romantic storyline.
Starring as an assassin in the drama, Joey has many action scenes. Reflecting on his role, Joey said, “It is very memorable because I did not think there would be many action scenes when I first read the script. When filming started, I filmed for six hours of continuous action scenes. I thought I would be able to handle it since I am active and exercise regularly. As filming progressed, I realized how hard it is to maintain stamina.”
Starring in her first role in an early Republican drama, Hera expressed the values of women at the time were vastly different than today. “I am quite modern in my way of thinking. First, I had to change the way I speak and not talk too fast. While I may look girly and seem to be the type that needs to be taken care of, I am actually quite independent in real life. When I first read the script, I thought it would be quite difficult and contradicts my own personality. I couldn’t understand why people during that time period can only love one man for their entire lives. Why can’t they have change of heart?”
With her career on the rise, Hera was asked whether she would keep her relationship under wraps for the sake of her career. She shared, “I promised myself that I would only publicly share something if there are drastic changes in my life, such as getting married, having children, a life and death situation, or some extremely important occurrence. If I am just dating, I will not publicly announce it because I don’t feel like it is a critical change in my life.”
Joey seemed to agree with Hera’s thought process—he would publicly share his marriage but not dating status. He said, “I am always a target for the media to write about. If Hera doesn’t want the public to focus too much on her love life, then I definitely do not want that. In the past, the public mostly focused on my love life and the media gossip. After filming Rosy Business 4, I don’t know when I have an opportunity to participate in such an iconic franchise again. I hope the audience can pay more attention to the hard work and effort I’ve put into my roles.”

Not that she’s a good actress but the show sucked and no one could have salvage that.
