Myolie Wu to Replace Sheren Tang in “Rosy Business 3”?
Onscreen golden couple, Wayne Lai (黎耀祥) and Sheren Tang (鄧萃雯), may not be reuniting for the third time in Rosy Business 3 <巾幗梟雄 3>. Due to her rumored diva behaviour and difficult demands, Sheren reportedly was ousted from Rosy Business 3 and replaced by last year’s TV Queen, Myolie Wu (胡杏兒).
At an earlier interview, Wayne confirmed that he will film for the third installment of the popular drama in March 2013, but also revealed that Sheren still had reservations in returning to Rosy Business 3.
“Rosy Business 3″ to Combat Television Wars
As the Hong Kong government will be approving new station, CTI, its broadcasting license next year, TVB has been preparing ammunition for the upcoming television wars. Aside from inviting Eric Tsang (曾志偉) and Wong Jing (王晶) to produce blockbuster dramas, TVB has also convinced producer Lee Tim Shing (李添勝) to halt his retirement plan.
Famed scriptwriter Cheung Wah Biu (張華標) will also return to TVB to work with Tim Gor on the third installment of Rosy Business.
Catherine Tsang Infuriated by Sheren’s Diva Behavior?
Although a key character in the Rosy Business franchise, Sheren Tang’s name was shockingly dropped from the third installment. Since filming War and Beauty <金枝慾孽> and Rosy Business, Sheren’s popularity soared and she has many filming opportunities in mainland China.
TVB had offered Sheren three times her salary to film for the company, but Sheren reportedly became egoistic and has grand expectations.
As Sheren still has a per-series contract, TVB reportedly has been trying to renew her contract. However, Sheren’s difficult demands may have deterred TVB management. Sheren reportedly demanded to film only in blockbuster dramas and even requested to clinch a Best Actress award. While filming for No Regrets <巾帼枭雄之義海豪情>, Sheren specifically asked for Tim Gor to be the producer and even designated her preferred scriptwriter.
An insider revealed that TVB production head, Catherine Tsang was angered by Sheren’s diva behavior, thus replacing her with Myolie Wu in Rosy Business 3. “Catherine Tsang was enraged. She instructed to drop off Sheren and replace her with ‘obedient’ Myolie. The preliminary cast list of Rosy Business 3 excluded Sheren and included Catherine Tsang’s favorite artist,” the insider stated.
Earlier, Tim Gor also told the media, “I will be filming a drama in March next year. I have booked Wayne, but not Sheren.”
Wayne Lai is Not Disappointed
Although Sheren may not return for Rosy Business 3, Wayne is not disappointed. “It’s too early to talk about next year’s filming. We are not sure about the situation and the script. I can only say that both Myolie and Sheren are good actresses. If Tim Gor casts Myolie, it means she is more suitable for the role.”
Wayne indicated that he was not disappointed in being unable to work with Sheren. “It’s not as if we can’t work forever. We need to add in new actors. In No Regrets, there were many new actors collaborating together. I have no issues with this.”

emmm….what is true and what’s not is only times will tell. Maybe all these are merely made up gimmick prior to the shooting of the drama.
Of course all fans of Rosy Business & No Regrets will love to see Sheren & Wayne again because they were indeed very good, but if the pportunity does not arise this time around…something else will replace.
More importantly, Wayne must continue with the 3rd installation…no matter what. I am sure he would be able to create different chemistry with others too. Trust him!

Male actors have it easy since no female actress is ever too young for them. Wayne was paired with Natalie Tong and Sire Ma in his last series, who are both younger than Myolie.

Yes, their onscreen chemistry was good but Sheren IS getting a little too big in her head. She’s playing on that ‘chemistry and milking it for what it’s worth. After winning TV Queen for the second time, she had no hesitation in leaving TVB and even badmouth about the station. So much for gratitude and that award should have gone to Charmaine.
Are you sure that Sheren Tang badmouthed about TVB? Show me some solid evidence. It could be over-exaggerated by the news media. Sheren is a very demanding person in terms of acting, but she is not a difficult person to get along, and she doesn’t like to exaggerate whatever is not true. She would just state the facts and not the gossips.

Sheren Tang is a demanding actress, in terms of acting, script, and maybe producer, but NOT a TV Queen award. She was very happy when she got Best Support Actress Award last year in China.

Like in RB1 and RB2, the 2 main characters are Sheren and Wayne. The series are anchored by the two main characters. What he means is the male and female lead are the support pillars for the whole series in RB1 and RB2.
However, in this series, it will be the story of Wayne+Myolie+Edwin Siu. I’m glad that Edwin is given the opportunity to move to first line.
I only wish that he won’t call it RB3. I mean we don’t see Detective Columbus called RB3 just because Wayne is in the series. Pierre Ngo won’t be in the series either, for which I will miss him.

I have a feeling Tim Gor only wants to use Wayne, Myolie and Edwin in his new drama but had no intention of calling it RB3, because just awhile ago he denied filming RB3. Most probably it’s tvb who insisted on calling it RB3 for publicity purposes. :/

Most people learn of a phrase called “活到老，学到老”, when they are young, and it’s very applicable in real life. Nothing wrong with improving or learning to better yourself from people you work with, regardless of what your “status” is.

In my subjective opinion, Myolie is the most deserving one of the current fadans.
sometimes it’s not just about improvement. everyone of us has different reaction with different people. so working with a new or different producer may give a new or different reaction/chemistry.
some people has a fixed/preconceived perception of an artist. no matter what she does, she can do no right. some criticize for the sake of criticizing. so, any worth discussing? i like only a handful of artists but i do not criticize other artists as i look at them objectively. there’s always an audience for different type of style. whatever rocks your boat. 😉

Maggie Cheung Ho Yee should have got TV Queen award in 2011 in “Forensic Heroes 3”. She was the best actress in 2011. If Sheren and Wayne got theirs (especially Sheren as she was on a per-series contract), why not Maggie Cheung? Jessica Husan’s acting did not impress me much in “Curse of the Royal Harem”. Jessica acted better in modern drama series as professionals and inspectors, someone with strong personalities.
Because that’s the best from the lot at that point of time.

I read that article. Myolie did not replace Sheren as the female lead for RB3 because right at the start Tim Gor’s intentions were to change all the leads except Wayne. Since Tim Gor never planned to use Sheren but wanted Myolie instead, we can’t say Myolie replaced Sheren.
Tim Gor indeed want to make this RB3 franchise though. So what was his denial earlier and him announcing he has JJ and Christine in his mind meant if he was planning to use Myolie all along and correct her acting? JJ and Christine by right are not yet good actresses, but what LTS said about them being the leads he wish to use might’ve given them false hope.

I think Lee Tim Shing may be someone who is quite easily influenced, or someone who is more easy going, who will tend to give in to stronger personalities.

I think it may not be his fault. It may be the media twisting his words (by deliberately emphasising on certain points and leaving out the rest of his words) to suit what they want to write and what the readers want to read. You can’t really trust HK’s media.

Of course, Myolie should be much better than those newbies, Christine Kuo and JJ Jia, who could not even speak perfect Cantonese. the news is true. there will be a Rosy III but producer Lee Tim Sing has just talked with myolie about the he wants to use her for his new drama. he said Rosy III will be a different scrip, beacuse the new one will be a first love romantic story. I think this will be a interesting drama because I really love myolie. She is my idol. support her.
It say that the lead actress will be Myolie Wu and the lead actor Wayne Lai. They will develop in a triangle love story with Edwin Siu. I think it will be some thing diferent and fresh.
