Ada Choi Wants to Film “Legend of Concubine Zhen Huan” Sequel
“I am not planning to rest anytime soon!” cried the pregnant Ada Choi (蔡少芬) at a recent dinner banquet in Tianjin.
The actress, currently two months pregnant with her second child, expressed that working while pregnant establishes good prenatal education for the child.
“There are many celebrity mothers who stop working and stay at home once they are pregnant. That’s not me,” said Ada. “I have a lot of work to do! After tonight’s job, I have to go to Shanghai, then Wuxi, and then after that, Beijing. Right now, my jobs are rather relaxing. They are just simple functions and endorsement activities. I also have some commercials lines up for me to film.”
The author of Legend of Zhen Huan <甄嬛傳>, the novel that inspired the successful drama of the same name, revealed that she is currently writing a sequel, titled Legend of Ru Yi <如懿傳>. The sequel will be based on Ru Yi, the descendant of Ada’s tragic Empress role.
Ada confirmed that the sequel is currently being written, but a precise filming date has not been confirmed. Asked if she is interested in returning for the sequel, Ada cried, “of course!”

Wow. Ada is gonna make a come back 🙂
Whoever says to have her comeback to the series obviously never watched the series. Her empress died in the series of heart attack. Unless we see flashback scenes. Why not show the story of Chongyan empress then? Ada can come back as the older version of the younger sister.
“Ada’s tragic Empress role.”
Nothing tragic, brought upon herself.
Do you understand the term ‘tragic’ Funn?
Events can be tragic whether or not it was caused by the character(s) involved.
tragic involves sympathy and sympathy involves circumstances not within her doing and if you have seen the series perhaps you will understand by what I mean.
Funn, stop talking nonsense.
Look up a dictionary if you don’t know the meaning of a word – instead of digging yourself a deeper hole.
>Ada Choi
Mother of god, she hasn’t changed at all over the past 15 years. This should be your aim, you young Chinese ladies.
Not sure how Ada would be able to balance her filming schedule and breastfeeding the newborn but it will be definitely stressful. Somehow, her facial features looked different similar to botox or facial skin-tightening. Defintely not makeup.
it does sound stressful…when you’re pregnant your body is constantly working day and night to develop a healthy growing baby inside of you so in result you became fatique, you have mood swing, etc. I think Ada just doesn’t want to accept herself getting older it is that kind of mentality that strive her to work hard, be involve, stay young at heart…most celeb diva like Kelly Chen thinks if they settles and stay home it’s like being a C-lie. C-lie in China= fat. yellow face. negative attitude. boring. my point it’s the best thing you could for your children is if you can stay home, stay home! and care for them… watch them grow but at the sametime maintain your health mentally, physically and emotionally. You don’t have to become a c-lie like the old tradition.
Ada is always flawless and beautiful! But I don’t think she should make it sound like staying home was a bad thing to do for a woman who is pregnant or a mom. Some has to work due to money or other silly excuses, some likes to be super involve and watch their children grow into different stages and raise them the right way. Ada is not young and she should be extra careful as woman over 30s are more likely to have misscarriage.
