Michael Miu Suggests New Ending for “A Change of Heart”

*Spoilers*

TVB’s new drama, A Change of Heart <好心作怪>, is currently actively filming in Hong Kong. Starring Michael Miu (苗僑偉), Bosco Wong (黃宗澤), Niki Chow (周麗淇), and Joey Meng (萬綺雯), A Change of Heart tells the life story of Michael’s character, Power, as he undergoes an extreme personality change after getting a heart transplant.

According to recent tabloid reports, Michael and Joey’s characters, Power and Sin Hang, will die together in the drama’s finale. Michael, whose character also died in the finale of Highs and Lows <雷霆掃毒>, reportedly did not want his character in A Change of Heart to suffer a similar fate, and requested the ending to be changed. Michael allegedly did not want his character to die because he wanted to take part in the A Change of Heart sequel, if there were to be one.

Michael is TVB’s Big Boss

A TVB crew member revealed, “Michael believed that his death in Highs and Lows was unfair, so this time he refuses to die. If he died, he would not have the chance to film a sequel. Michael also offered many suggestions to the story line and consistently helped out the scriptwriters and directors.”

Michael is good friends with TVB’s current boss, Charles Chan (陳國強). As reported by Next Media, Michael was disturbed by the fate of his character in A Change of Heart, and requested for the ending to be changed. A Change of Heart producer, Nelson Cheung (張乾文), originally opposed it. Michael’s costar, Joey, also asked Michael to “just follow the script.” However, due to Michael’s close relations with Charles Chan, Nelson Cheung ultimately succumbed to Michael’s request and re-wrote the last few episodes of the drama.

Joey’s fatal ending in the drama, however, will not be changed.

  1. feel bad for joey. michael miu abusing connection with the boss get the series rewritten to suit his needs and joey has to suck it up.

    1. Agree with you. If they die, at least make it make sense and not to do it for dramatic purposes. Seems like it’s the norm now for many of the main characters to die when it’s totally unnecessary.

    1. She still looks good but a little too skinny. Nikki on the other hand looks fabulous.

  2. Damn, his death in Highs and Lows was truly unfair, since technically in reality, he and his pals would get away with the crime. But it’s TVB….as for this show, it’s gonna be boring to watch knowing that Michael will die in the end. I like spoilers, but sometimes it really does kill the mood.

  3. Why TVB nowadays like to give sad endings o their series?

I’m kinda wary of TVB’s sad endings after watching the lame endings of ‘Witness Insecurity’ and 3KRPG.

    1. They want to make the ending memorable and they think sad endings are memorable. I feel having a proper wedding for an ending will be more memorable.
