Raymond Lam Releases “Nice” and “BB” Music Videos

After taking a long vacation with girlfriend Karena Ng (吳千語) and almost three weeks of absence from Hong Kong, Raymond Lam (林峯) is ready to take Cantonese music fans by storm again.

On March 3, Emperor Entertainment Group (EEG) released music videos of Raymond’s songs, “Nice” and “BB”, which were included in his January album, A Time 4 You. “Nice” was the theme song for Raymond’s January concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum, which allowed him to show off rapidly-choreographed dance moves, while “BB” puts Raymond’s buttery voice to good advantage.

The details for the “Nice” music video were not skimped, putting production costs at a six-figure sum. Raymond wore three memorable costume sets from his A Time 4 You concert, recreating visions from the sold-out Coliseum performance. The music video took twelve hours to complete filming, once again illustrating Raymond’s professionalism and stamina.

The music video for “BB” was shot in South Korea during Raymond’s Lunar New Year filming for TVB in February. A dozen EEG crew members accompanied Raymond on the trip to Seoul to capture the unique local sights, including Raymond skating at an outdoor ice rink and delightfully eating a giant crab caught fresh from the sea. Raymond enjoyed the itinerary immensely and laughed that he should film his next music video at an international location as well.

  1. He needs to dye his hair back to black. Raymond you’re not a kpop idol nor do you have the look to pull it off. Bleached hair with orange streak, really? Hong Kong music has really degraded…. (I’m anticipating all the crazy raymond lam fans attacking me)

    1. Can’t blame his stylist for this one, it was for his BB Karena. And I bet all my money this was filmed for her, too.

      1. My other fan, or same person different account?

Oh I dun noe if you watched it or not but the MV, if its for Karena, its sweet. But if you lose the bet, where is your money?

    2. I totally agree with you about the HK music degrading! Ray’s Self Portrait turned out so well(to me atleast), then he goes back to all that horrible music in his newest album. =( What happened to the old him when he first debuted as a singer? And the hair, well an artist has got to try something different to please his fans.

      1. He really should tone down his new fast songs. It’s too much IMO. I prefer his older fast songs such as ‘Tonight’, ‘Let’s Get Wet’, ‘Illusion’, ‘Hello’ and ‘One More Time’.

      2. @Gar – Agreed. His older songs were sexy and still had his style. His newer songs since Chok are too in your face and now sound like run-of-the-mill pop songs.

    3. I agreed with you, “What’s wrong with Raymond?” I like original stuffs, not copy cat if I want “Nice” video type all I have to do is go down the street Hollywood. 🙁

  2. I agree with Uni, LF’s stylist must be fired!! I also hated the choreography in “Nice” Music Video. He’s going fling his head off man..

  3. Not sure why stylists need to make their clients look “different” with the crazy hair colors. I understand the flamboyant costumes for a concert, but LF’s hair was way too much this time! Please, please keep it black!
Very nice MVs! Can’t wait for the concert DVD to relive those AWESOME three nights! LF Love FUNG!

      1. Yes I did. And also went to all three LUML concerts in 2011. LF is a great performer! The Coliseum was really rocking! When he spoke from his heart to thank all his loyal Honeys/fans, it was very touching!
LF has worked too hard all these years. It is time for him to enjoy life. So glad to see LF happy these days! LF Love FUNG!

  4. I’ve never been a fan of his fast songs bcuz it’s pretty bad watching him dance. Note to Raymond-PLEASE LEAVE DANCE MOVES TO SHOW LUO!!!

    1. I’m going to be honest, I have yet to seen a Chinese star/singer who can actually dance. And the choreography DOES NOT help.

      1. Show Luo can dance, you should check for his dance. But dun check for his live of slow songs.

      2. Why every actor or actress can be a singer
So easily. LF can’t even sing.

      3. Not every actor can become singer. And in some cases, even when some actors are assigned to release album, they fail so badly. Additionally, being a singer isnt hard, but can establish name as a singer is way harder.

      4. Fox, I need a video of Show actually dancing and not following a choreography.

      5. Joey Yung is really good at it. I love watching her sing and dance to fast songs at her concerts! She does such perfect performances. And what about the more experienced singers like Anita Mui and The Grasshoppers? They can dance like crazy.

      6. @ Crystal: I think its hard to find since Show always goes with all of his team. I rmb he had a solo dance part in the recent concert.

But Show wont sing when he dances and vice versa.

William Chan dances not bad, although his singing is bad.

      7. I’m talking about the NOW.

Joey err… I see glimpse of her concerts, I don’t think she can dance. But maybe I didn’t see the right stage. Who knows.

But dancing to me is this:
        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZbnwEOX4Qo

^ No choreo, fluidity. Excellent movement. Beautiful.

      8. Fox,
I tried to look it up on youtube but Show seems to have an obsession to dance to kpop idols popular hits and thats pretty much choreo. But I’m going to keep trying to find a clip or something.

      9. Crystal, if that I dun have anything for you. The dance in your clip looks really hard. Show Luo always goes with his team like I mentioned.

      10. You can go search for Dancing King – Show Luo, it’s a gay character he portraits to host on his show Entertainment 100%, he solo and choro himself all the steps.

      11. Vanness Wu can dance really well. If I remember correctly He was quite famous for his dancing in the past.

    2. Well, the dancing wasn’t that bad for his past upbeat songs, but this recent one was dissappointing.

      1. Actually I like his dances for his slower dancing songs like Hello or Let’s Get Wet.

      2. It’s the head movement in “Nice” which ruins it IMO. He’s had better dances before this.

    3. no offence I’ve seen Show Luo. He follows choreography and even the choreography itself isn’t impressive. Aaron Kwok is the only person I would considered a dancer.

    4. William Chan can really dance. I saw him in a dance competition hosted in China. He dance very well.

Aaron Kwok, no need to mention. He’s the acknowledged Dancing King in the 90’s and 00s’.

  5. The red and black outfits-the material and look reminds me of the early 00’s but it is better than the sport like pants he wore in JSG. Mm don’t really care about the hair.
The choreography is light but I LOVE IT

  6. whats the music industry come to when a 32 yr old man behaves like he is a 15 boy, with streaked hair and rainbows in it? he’s got the the weirdest moves too, oh geez so what talent does he have again? he was alright back but whatever’s left is just obliterated in recent yrs. just get married and end the BB saga already uncle Ray. dont let your music affect the youth.

    1. AHAHAHA LMFAO, I had to laugh. You’re hilarious!

    2. Well this 32 yr old man/uncle (I agree with you on that plus I even think he looks older than his age due to how worn out he is) does have a 19 yr old girlfriend, so he’s gotta act younger to accompany her.

      1. Curious mode: if you think LF looks older than his age, then you think who in Hk loook younger than their age?

      2. i think he looks young. i dont think he looks 32 lol

      3. Well, if you look a little closer at his face, you can see all those wrinkles and dark circles plus his receading hair line. He doesn’t look 32, not the mature type of old looking but seriously old looking. TVB just really worked him out after he became more famous. And wanting to film movies and dramas and sing at the same time doesn’t help at all.

    3. I don’t see what’s wrong with a 32 year old man dyeing his hair.

I also disagree that a person should ‘act his age’ because this ‘his age’ is defined by society. A person should be able to act and dress how he likes provided he’s not hurting anybody.

      1. Nothing wrong with dyeing his hair if he can pull it off. However, he looks haggard with the dyed hair, which contrast starkly with his tanned leathery skin.

  7. The dancing is painful watch lol. The styling is cheesy. He should be true to himself & stick with slow songs.

  8. He needs a new choreographer and stylist I mean I think he’s a good singer but those needs to go, reminds me of how boy bands in the millineum yrs change for their concert and cheesy dance moves when in this case Raymond’s dance moves are just a whole lot if head banging and leg shuffling. He needs a cheographor from the U.S.

    1. Yup its rite that the dancing in the MV looks bad. It lacks the strong and fast atmosphere as well. And should have more background dancers for songs like that. Overall for making dance MV, he should go and learn from Show Luo.

But I watched some dance MVs of HK singers and it faced the same problem as the dance dun fit the melody. Is it HK style? If it is, so sad. Taiwanese stars have better dance MV with more money.

    2. agree. i also think he is a good singer. i think it’s better for him to stay at one place and sing. stop dancing raymond!! lolol

      1. I think he can dance. Just like his songs, it’s not Ray who can’t sing or dance, it’s the people who make his songs and his dance moves that suck and screw him up making it look like he’s not good.

  9. raymond can’t dance.

wonder if he’s trying to act ‘young’ because he’s datingn young karena? that’s not working because he looks too wasted and worn out and old for his age for a merely 33 year old.

    1. Lmao, you are saying the words of mine but I think you typed wrong name.

    2. I wouldn’t say he looks older than his age. He’s been looking pretty good lately ever since announcing his relationship with Karena. He seems to have a glow to him now that the monkey’s off his shoulder.

  10. I have nothing against the choreo as the Chinese industry for this is at its absolute point low and I don’t expect anything from it AT ALL.

But his hair? What on Earth is going on with that hair? Maybe I have something against the color.

His voice. His voice is most suitable for r&b and ballads. That is where he excels and he should stay there. A track or two for up beat songs is good for a new style but not as the title or promotional track…

  11. Oh..Raymond…oh..Raymond BB music, you really love your BB , that romantic..telling the whole world how much he loves her such a lucky gal..alot of girls must be envied Karena. So far no chinese artist express the whole world this aggressive first one or besides him any more..? he..must be very serious about this relationship.

    1. Karena please don’t breaks his heart he really really loves you…

  12. WTF is this?
NICE is not NICE. The beat is just bad. BAD.

His stylist needs to go back to MARS.

Raymond needs to stop going back when he’s 19.

  13. i’m going to stop reading about RL after this post!! making me sick….non-stop news about him and getting bored with his ‘Chok’ look!!

  14. raymond changed once he entered the singing industry. his dance moves are stiff. to those who compared him to korean idol stars, its not fair to raymond b/c those idols have training for years and i doubt raymond trained for years in dancing

    1. Korean entertainment industry is seriously fooling everyone. Yes, those idols have been tortured to train for years, but they’re not trained to dance. They’re train to follow choreography. That is why when those so called ‘dancers’ in those idol groups are asked to dance freely, all they can do is move their hips left to right with no rhythm what so ever.

Of course there are exceptions, maybe like 10 individuals e.g Taeyang from Big Bang, Kahi from After School, Minzy from 2NE1 etc who can actually dance without a choreo. The rest, is that really dancing anymore?

      1. IMO, I think Xiah Junsu and BoA are both very good dancers. I disagree about Taeyang and Minzy, but different strokes for different folks.

I TOTALLY agree about your comment re: dancing and choreography though. Choreography is just movement of the body – anyone can do the choreo if they practice it long enough. Dancing is when someone really gets the music or the beat, and takes choreo and makes it look so natural and their own.

  15. HK music industry is really going downwards. Cant compare to k-pop.
LF new album is kinda disappointing. I really like self portrait… it was a good album with good catchy songs like bacause of you, stone etc
LF can do better.. hope proper investment is placed on LF by his company.

    1. I don’t even want to compare it to kpop. Why would I want to compare it a something that is mostly noise except for a few lead singers here and there, recycled melodies, and autotune overload? HK music industry has been degrading since the early millennium, but I definitely don’t think kpop is any better.

  16. why is he dressed up in red, hair dyed in same color too? ‘atmosphere of hell’.. yucks

    1. Are you kidding? I bet you are one of his haters cause with all the dislikes here for his songs and dances, Ray’s deffinately going to be criticized for winning Gold Song. You just want people to criticize and more people to hate him. I seriously don’t think his songs so far is good enough for gold song.
