Power Station Releases New Album “Light”
After 4 long years since their last album, Taiwanese band, Power Station, released their new album Light <光> on March 29. Power Station will also be performing in Taiwan, as part of their “Don’t Forget the Origins, Moving On World Tour 2013” <动力火车 莫忘初衷 继续转动 巡回演唱会>.
Aboriginal rockers, Power Station may not have released an album for quite some time, but they have been busy. One of their projects includes their debut foray into film. Playing a pair of cold-blooded killers in Piano Trojan <钢琴木马>, they also sang the theme song, “Keeping Company” <奉陪>.
In late November 2009, the duo started their Moving On World Tour, travelling around China and Malaysia. Having chocked up more than 200 live shows, the singers are continuing their road show, with a much-anticipated stop in Taiwan on June 26, 2013 at the Taipei International Convention Center. Power Station promises a live performance which will lead the audience down 15 years of memory lane, belting out their classics such as “Relentless Love Letter” <无情的情书>, “Tomorrow of Tomorrow of Tomorrow” <明天的明天的明天>, “Walking along Jhonghsiao East Street 9 Times” <孝东路走九遍>, “Rainbow” <彩虹> and “Moving On” <继续转动>.
Empty Love Life
One of the title track in the album is “Elena” <艾琳娜> which in Mandarin sounds like “my lover ah”. This no doubt prompted the reporters at the press conference to inquire about 45-year-old You Chiu Hsing’s (尤秋兴) love life. He said jokingly, “I don’t have the energy to think about that. I’m too old to trod through this muddy water, and I’m too much of a “vegetable” anyway.”
When You Chiu Hsing heard about band member, Yan Chi Lin’s (尤秋兴) wife controlled his purse strings, You added laughingly, “And that’s really the reason why I’m still single!”

01. Light <光>

Dang!當! — Huan Zhu Ge Ge
Who can forget that emotion stirring themesong?
Other than Dang, I can’t recall their other songs.
Clamine,
Highly recommend Power Station’s 不要再說愛我

Jayne, thanks! 不要再說愛我 is pretty good.
Clamine,
We seem to share some common ground on music preferences. 🙂
Another great subsong is “Zhong Yu Ming Bai” which is the ending song for Xian Jian 1(Chinese Paladin 1). That is another hit song.
Meant to say themesong from a series…
I don’t know who these ppl are but for one thing-they have really big noses-the high ones I mean, not the fat ‘n puggy ones
😀
yeung4life,
Power Station was a very popular band in Taiwan in the 90s, the Taiwanese equivalent of Hong Kong’s Beyond.
They were a very popular group who are vocally talented. At least they are actually talented instead of having fake and artificial looks with no talent which is what most of the singers of today consist of…
