Bosco Wong in Secret Talks to Join Now TV?
As other markets and stations tempt with higher pay, TVB have been losing its top artists and scriptwriters to rival stations. Bosco Wong (黄宗泽) may soon leave the TVB nest, as he was rumored to have met with Now TV to discuss working for the company.
Bosco has often displays a playful character, but in reality, he is smart in investing his finances and has accumulated quite a fortune. His investments include properties, blue chip stocks and a red wine imports. Recently, he was seen in Hong Kong’s Central district looking at shop spaces for his new oyster bar. Last year, Bosco also invested $8 million HKD in a bar lounge in Malaysia and said,“In less than four months the bar has almost broken even.”
Along with many artists, Bosco may be increasingly dissatisfied with TVB. The annual TVB TV King award has evaded him although Bosco’s performances in Lives of Omission <潛行狙擊> and Witness Insecurity <護花危情> received many good reviews. Though these roles looked promising, Bosco was only nominated for Best Actor and has not received any awards. Bosco is believed to be disheartened by his progress at TVB.
Bosco Meets with Richard Li?
Now TV is a multi-channel digital satellite TV and IPTV channel service in Hong Kong and is operated by PCCW Limited, which is owned by Richard Li. In April, an eye witness told the local media that Bosco was seen having a meal with Richard Li.“That night, I saw Bosco with Richard dining at Lang Kwai Fong Hotel’s Celebrity Cuisine Restaurant. There were only two of them; even Richard’s bodyguards were not present. Bosco and Richard chatted happily during the two-hour dinner and then left separately.”
When the media checked with the restaurant service staff, he said, “Mr. Li comes here occasionally to have his meals, so he is quite a regular customer.”
When asked by the media, Bosco denied meeting Richard. Bosco said, “I don’t know him, it must be a mistake.”
A close source said that ex-TVB producer Mui Siu Ching (梅小青) and Lau Ka Hao (刘家豪) who currently work for NOW, have approached Charmine Sheh (佘诗曼) and Bosco Wong to join them but unfortunately Charmine’s deal did not materialize and Bosco has yet to give a reply though his contract with TVB is expiring next year.
Lately, Bosco has been filming primarily in mainland China. Due to his popularity, Bosco commands a fee of $220,000 HKD per episode. Besides the TVB drama Cat Mother (猫屎妈妈) which is scheduled to start shooting next month, Bosco will not be involved in any of TVB’s productions for the rest of the year. It was understood that both parties are still in the midst of negotiation for the renewal of Bosco’s contract.
With his rising popularity in mainland China, Bosco may not be in a hurry to renew his management contract as he considers other options that will allow him to work outside the confinement of TVB.

He’s a smart guy.. Can’t just rely on his income from TVB..Investing $$ he earn to make more $$ is the way to go!
Whatever decision Bosco makes ill support him!
All artists have their own choices why not for better
future…..maybe..one fine day Bosco will return…to Tvb actually more entertainment stations is good for the artists.
Smart Bosco. I hope he continues to perform well in his business ventures.
This is just rumor, but it’s better if he go when he has the chance. TVB is not progressive. It’s good that he slowly paves way so that he doesn’t depend on acting or the entertainment industry for his earnings.
Hope he does leave tvb cause his career has like completely stalled.
not sure it’s stalled…he’s filmed way more movies and mainland dramas this year than in years past. he’s making way more money than he’s ever made before.
i don’t see him coming back either though if the licenses are given out to HKTV, ICable and NowTV.
