Moses Chan to Quit Entertainment Industry After Marriage?
Both Moses Chan (陳豪) and Aimee Chan (陳茵媺) have been recently absent from promotion events for their dramas, Beauty at War <金枝慾孽貳> and Slow Boat Home <情越海岸線> respectively. Yesterday, Moses finally made a public appearance with all smiles and thanked everyone for their blessings. Allegedly, Aimee has been pregnant for two months and Moses is already making wedding preparations.
Although the couple has not admitted to the tabloids, their happiness cannot be concealed. “Thanks for everyone’s caring words. I can feel the urge. Please be a little more patient with me. I will announce good news, but I will keep a low-profile attitude. It’s not that I don’t want to reveal anything, but I will inform everyone when there is something good,” Moses said.
Moses and Aimee grew close on set of Master of Play <心戰> in 2010. At the end of that same year, Moses and Aimee already moved into the same flat in Sham Tseng. Throughout their two years of dating, Moses flew to Toronto, Canada numerous times to visit Aimee’s parents. According to an insider, the two will marry sometime this year in Toronto, and will not be returning to Hong Kong until Aimee gives birth.
It was reported that Moses will provide Aimee with a house of $30 million HKD, and has already transferred a large amount of cash to his future mother-in-law’s bank account as a gift. Moses even allowed Aimee’s mother to purchase three properties in Toronto last year. Including another commercial unit purchased in 2008, they had a total of four properties. Last year in October, Aimee’s parents moved into an apartment with a beautiful ocean view in Brookers Lane worth $610,000 CAD.
Plans After Marriage
Aimee reportedly revealed she would continue to film dramas after marriage. As for Moses, he allegedly will not be renewing his management contract with TVB after its expiration. He may make a career change and head into business instead. “I’ve always wanted to engage in business. I don’t want to wait until I’m 50 and then become an entrepreneur!”

Aimee should just be a housewive, besides, her acting isn’t improving at all. Still have trouble understanding her.
If Moses quits the entertainment industry, I really wonder if Aimee can afford to be a housewife? The standard of living in HK is really high. There are many that do not like her acting but there are others that do like it. That is how all artists survive in this circle.
what he do if no acting? lazy man.
I hope he quits to be honest.
As he mentioned above, he will be doing business so I don’t see anything wrong with that at all. Many former actors and actresses have done business and if it does not work out in the end, they can always come back to acting.
his coffee business in malaysia flopped and bancrupt just after 6 months.
If that did happen, then he can do business in something else or come back to acting. I am sure that he and Aimee will not starve.
Me too. I don’t find him handsome at all. His acting sucks too. Why is he even famous? Always getting lead roles in good dramas which he doesn’t deserve.
See lai love him. What to do.
And he expects Aimee to be the breadwinner perhaps?
I don’t think Moses is like that and besides, what is wrong with the women being the breadwinner these days?? It is not the 18th century anymore. As he said, he hopes to do business and I don’t see anything wrong with that.
there’s nothing wrong with the woman being the bread winner now a days but I doubt aimee would survive in the entertainment industry without moses backing her
Yeah, more so when Moses likes really expensive coffee. Those coffee beans alone will kill any household expenses’ budget!
Nothing wrong with the woman being the breadwinner in this day and age. It is actually quite common than you expected.
Must do a lot for the men’s ego I say! Not in Asia.
Does not matter if it is in Asia or anywhere, it also depends on how traditional the guy is. IF he is really traditional, then he may feel that it will hurt his ego. However, if not and he is more modernized, then I don’t think it should be a big deal anymore like it was in the olden days…
I’m so happy for both of them. Congratulations to Moses and Aimee!
I wonder who’s the insider that reported the news to Face Magazine. Could be fake..
even if both quit entertainment, that won’t be a loss at hk entertainment since both aren’t known for their acting skills 😛
Totally!
I personally think time will show everything.
And if she is pregnant, there’s a high possibility that the wedding will be hosted in Canada then.
Come to Toronto!!!
I think he will since that’s where Aimee is currently is (:
and where her parents live as well.
Moses’ reaction thus far has been along the lines of “Marriage will happen soon. I’ll share the good news when it’s time.” His response suggests that a flash wedding may indeed be around the corner, otherwise it is so easy to deny all these pregnancy rumors.
Agree Jayne.
Moses to quit the entertainment industry is also a lost for TVB. He can carry a comedy fairly well. He’s lost his touch from Family Man but what he’s got under his belt is a lot more than what other siu sang has to offer.
I hope he can delegate his business duties and stick to filming so there is a constant flow of revenue.
I agreed . Moses still consider a versatile actor in TVB . Hope that he wont be quitting.
Like his acting so far especially in When heaven burn. He is a versatile actor.
I thought i read somewhere that Mose (or Aimee) denied that she’s pregnant
He did. He exerts that he is a very traditional man so will not a baby out of wedlock.
maybe not born out of wedlock but conceive out of wedlock? 🙂
You are very naive if you believe what hk artists say.
Agree. Hong Kong actors and actresses are famous for being liars all the time.
yuki:Good catch at my wrong phrasing. I should have said “he won’t impregnated girlfriend (Aimee) before marriage”
陈豪自认安全传统 称绝不在婚前让女友怀孕
Asianfanatics 12/2012 (When are you two getting married?) When the time is right. (Pregnant before marriage?) That won’t be too good, I’m a traditional man, must take it step by step. I won’t have a baby before marriage.”
Baby here means conceived.
************************
And just off the press news reported that Aimee is 2 months pregnant already.
陈豪400万礼金娶陈茵薇 女方已怀孕两月
0_0 HKD4 million…? (Is that considered a lot for a celebrity?) Anyway, what lucky in-laws.
And is this news confirmed? If so, congrats to them.
I think what he meant in the earlier interview is that he would not PLAN to have a baby before marriage. But accidents do happen, if you know what I mean.
It is not only HK actors and actresses that lie but all artists are famous for lying through their teeth. If you have followed e news for a long time, then you will notice certain patterns.
I know all artists around the world lie, but what I meant was that Hong Kong artists are number 1 when it comes to lying.
It’s their private lives, so certain things they will not admit – such as a pregnancy (especially if they aren’t married) and only admit to it once they can no longer hid the bumps. Also, most people don’t announce they are expecting they pass their 1st trimester.
Well I don’t think she is pregnant as I read somewhere else that her visit to Canada is bcos her mum is sick.
No matter what, really no harm trying to be an entrepreneur while still have the desire. Never try never know.
Meanwhile, I must say Aimee’s acting hasn’t been any better. I am sorry to say that. I like her in Off Pedder and FH3 but thereafter I don’t see much breakthrough in her subsequent series such as Steps, The Confidant, Slow Boat Home. Maybe there isn’t any good script for her yet…but i am feeling bored seeing her acting. I am sorry.
Um she wasn’t in Steps… Aimee’s first role was in best selling secrets.. well that’s what I remembered..
Yes, she was in Steps, that was the one she was nominated as Best Actress in a “lead” role instead of Maggie.
@yuki: that’s “The Last Steep Ascent”, not “Steps”. “Steps” is a 2007 drama about dancing that starred Steven Ma, Wayne Lai, Bernice Liu, Kate Tsui, Fala Chen etc.
Hey Bern, yep, but they also refer to that drama as “Steps to Heaven” , I was assuming that Sammie just put “Steps” in as the short name and didnt type out the full name, Anyways, I didnt know there was a drama called Steps, is that a drama worth watching? Let me know thanks!
no, It’s just her acting. She isn’t getting any better
I really hope that Moses won’t leave acting to pursue a full time business. He doesn’t seem to have much business savvy and I don’t want him to lose all the money that he’s earned all these years.
Even though they did not admit the pregnancy, but it’s apparent that the rumours are true based on the interview moses did after the promotional event. Those who watched the clip will know. 🙂
Ooh I didn’t watch the clip, so, she’s pregnant? And her mum? Is she sick or? Oh well, he’s a traditional man, I don’t know what that means anymore. 🙂
Moses did not directly admit, but he was smiling sheepishly and laughing throughout the interview and said “thank you for your blessings. i will announce the good news when i can. Dont force me” or something along the lines. It’s obvious that they’re just waiting for Aimee’s first trimester to pass before announcing the good news. and nope, her mum’s doing fine. He has clarified that during the interview as well.
Yep, Aimee is probably pregnant judging by Moses’ sheepish happy smiles. They’ll prob have to announce it in a few more months.
I don’t know why and I’m sorry to all of those shippers but I just don’t like this pairing at all.
I agree with you.
Very lazy man on this world.
It is not just men, but many women are even lazier…
Happy for them!
Their just say their will quit …but at the end we keep seeing them on screen …like mui kui wai ..he also start business n now v often see him on screen …..these actor their never quit this industry ….
