Ron Ng Has No Intimate Scenes with Myolie Wu in “Triumph in the Skies 2”

Reuniting with Francis Ng (吳鎮宇) once more to play brothers, Ron Ng (吳卓羲) reprises his role as the co-pilot Isaac Tong in Triumph in the Skies 2 <衝上雲霄II>. Though the younger Isaac did not get to stay together with his love interest in the 2003 prequel, the older Isaac gets a much happier ending.
Myolie Wu (胡杏兒), who portrayed Francis’ wife Zoe in the original series, will return in the sequel as another character – aircraft maintenance technician Summer, who physically resembles Zoe – and Isaac is deep in love with her.
Ron said, “At first, my role was afraid that [Sam] would be bothered about seeing me date a girl who closely resembles Zoe, so I would come up with ways to prevent the two from meeting. We have a scene where the three of us make a deal, and it was then when [I discovered] that my brother never minded in the first place.”
Asked if Ron had any intimate scenes with Myolie, Ron laughed, “Superficial contact, yes, but when it comes to intense kissing scenes, Kenneth Ma (馬國明) and Chilam Cheung (張智霖) were in charge of that. In the drama, Chilam would dump his women and I would be left in charge of handling the situations.”
Aside from Myolie’s character, Ron will also be involved with Kelly Fu’s (傅嘉莉) character, and the three will be involved in a love triangle. At the mention that Kelly had “confessed” her love for Ron during a recent interview, Ron immediately said, “I don’t know about this! After shooting [Triumph in the Skies 2] we only met at work.” Referring to reports in which Kelly claimed that she was seeing Ron, he explained, “I asked her, and she said the reporter distorted the truth.”
Ron is confident that Triumph in the Skies 2 will be a ratings success. “People were still talking about the original drama after ten years, and people consistently asked us if we would ever film the sequel. When it comes to ratings, I’ll hand that burden to Francis and Chilam. Honestly, I am very optimistic about the ratings. I am confident.”

Finally, a short news on Ron. He seems to have matured. Acting wise, improved a lot but still sorta wooden. He has a somewhat big role in TITS 2 so again I am surprised at the lack of news, good or bad. Which means he is lying low now.

Despite his lines, Ron seems less light-hearted than what Isaac may sound on paper. Although greener in “Triumph in the Skies 2”, he seemed more vibrant there. In the sequel, he seems tired and holding back a bit, especially in how he speaks his lines. Between Isaac and Roy, I’m enjoying Roy more. Watched two episodes so far; I’m impressed with Chilam and the scenery.
The series is 43 episodes, so there will be enough PR for all the lead artists; Ron’s turn will come later. Fala’s news are the highlight now due to interest in her leaving TVB and split from Daniel Sit.
It has been a decade between the 2 series. Isaac has to grow up a bit and I kinda like this Isaac better.
I feel the opposite, I prefer Issac over Roy. Issac has many different interactions/relationships which makes his character more fleshed out. As for acting, I never thought Ron was terrible, just average. However, I feel he IS more alive in his scenes (bear in mind I didn’t watch the first), and any holding back is simply due to the character being 10 years older.
OTOH, I feel bored by Kenneth’s scenes. His acting is very one-note and exactly like Kenneth’s acting in all his other shows. And he’s supposed to be a player but I don’t get the feel at all. No confidence, no finesse in the way he carry himself and talks to people.
I agree with advo. Roy in the first Triumph in the SKies never seemed like a player. The change seems too sudden and OCC. I agree that Ron as Issac just grew up I enjoy Ron in this series a lot.
I think most actors can be sorta wooden and stiff sometimes no matter what
I actually thought that Isaac and Zoe would have been a cute couple in the first series, so I’m excited to see Ron and Myolie together in part 2.
After watching episode 5, I came to the realization that Isaac falls in love with someone whose personality resembles Sam, while Sam falls in love with Fala whose personality kinda resembles Isaac.
I agree with you 100%. I think Isaac and Zoe had many moment together in the 1st part. He really took care for her, better than Rita….would have been cute couple and could be more interesting with Sam-Zoe-Isaac..

I’m looking forward to see more of his character and relationship with Summer. Issac was somewhat of an iconic character who I looked up to during my childhood.
what are you talking about? ron looks hot in the uniform! but agree that love isaac since his apperance in the first triumph! agree that isaac was an iconic character in my childhood too! ron and summer myolie will have fantastic chemistry and becomes another golden screen couple!
Given that I’m a dude it’s quite normal for me not to find him attractive, he’s a good looking dude though it’s just that you can see it in his face he looks really tired. He needs more sleep, he looked exhausted as well in Season Of Love.
Hopefully he’ll shine in this series.
have faith in ron! he’s a great guy and isaac is an iconic role since triumph1 and since he’s pairing with myolie who has her breakthrough female technician role summer ron sure will shine later! prefer to watch myolie’s storyline than the boring love triangle of fala and her suitors!

Yes! And love it! Ron and Myolie as a couple… Since a long time not been a couple. The last time was in their tvb drama Chamber of love or Love of chamber. Really don’t remember Jajajajaj a Btw love to see them as a couple they has to have more drama together.

I think working with Francis again might be stressing Ron out. Francis was a guest in the first Cooking with Lady May and he mentioned Ron when talking about how new/young actors nowadays don’t follow script and prepare adequately. Maybe the stiffness is due to pressure from Francis? Or maybe he’s just not a very good actor. Nevertheless, he is good looking and in HK, that’s enough.

I also have a feeling that Ron is pressured when working with Francis. However, Ron is known to be a bit stiff when acting as well although he is better now. It can be a combination of both too. But I have a feeling that Ron will be fine. Poor Ron looks really tired so I hope he gets a break soon and gets some rest.
I like Ron character in TITS 2, he is handsome and cute.

I miss seeing Isaac (Ron) and Sam( Francis) parents. And their house… so different now and what happen to Coco’s sister in law? it’s not making sense

If I remember correctly, Mary Hon (Mrs. Tong) is still with TVB, but Sek Sau (Mr. Tong) has left. And of course, Belle (Flora Chan) turned down this offer.
They should address this matter, even with one simple scene or sentence.
HK people are so conservative. Kissing is considered intimate?? I was watching some of the older dramas by TVB, there were more intense kissing scenes than now. And those kissing were real rather than camera tricks. Although we are living in the modern world, but society thinking is more backward than in the 70s’, 80s’ and even 90s’. Seriously, what’s the point of doing kissing scenes if it ain’t do it wholeheartedly. Even it is acting, it needs to be done properly.
The story for Ron & Myolie is my favorite so far. It’s actually unique (usually, TVB uses the plot where Sam would fall in love with Summer because she looks like Zoe and the thing that keeps them apart is Summer thinking she’s only a replacement, blah blah blah). So this is quite refreshing; looking forward to their relationship more than the Sam-Holly-Jayden triangle.
