Chilam Cheung Cheated on Anita Yuen with Miss Asia Lee Siu Wai?
The flirty playboy pilot Captain Jayden “Cool” from TVB’s summer drama hit Triumph in the Skies 2 <衝上雲宵II> is a fan favorite, and Chilam Cheung (張智霖) plays the role convincingly well. But is it possible that Chilam was also just playing a real-life version of himself?
Chilam is one lucky guy. He had a smooth debut in 1991 when his first single with Maple Hui (許秋怡), “A Modern Love Story” <現代愛情故事>, became a chart-topping, IFPI-certified success. Chilam’s transition to TV and film was also smooth – he co-starred alongside the popular music trio, Grasshopper, in his debut television drama, TVB’s The Peak of Passion<沖天小子> in 1992.
Chilam met Anita Yuen (袁詠儀) while working on a music video together. The couple admitted their relationship to the public in 1994, and in 2001, the couple secretly married in San Francisco, California. In 2006, their son, Morton Cheung(張慕童), was born. In less than 15 years since joining the entertainment industry, Chilam found a profitable job, a loving wife, and a beautiful son.
As a celebrity couple, Chilam and Anita settled down with a family relatively sooner than their peers, but the couple still had times of rebellion when they were younger. In 2011, Anita admitted that before she met Chilam, she was involved with a married businessman.
Chilam, on the other hand, was rumored to have secretly dated Miss Asia runner-up winner, Lee Siu Wai (李小惠), soon after he began dating Anita in 1992. The paparazzi often photographed Chilam and Siu Wai secretly meeting up. The rumors of their affair apparently went so rampant that Anita had to personally address to the rumors herself when she met up with the press. Chilam allegedly realized the problems he has caused and immediately broke up with Siu Wai.
Lee Siu Wai, who was first runner-up at ATV’s Miss Asia Pageant in 1992, married boyfriend Kenneth in 2005. The couple have two children – 6-year-old daughter Cherry and 3-year-old son Scott. Siu Wai retired from the industry soon after getting married. She did not invite any of her friends in the industry to her wedding and almost completely cut-off all ties with the entertainment circle.
Siu Wai and Kenneth occasionally uploaded family vacation photos on Facebook, including pictures of Disneyland, Ocean Park, Book Fairs, Christmas parties, and beaches of Thailand.
Chilam’s Other Rumored Girlfriends
Maple Hui (許秋怡) – Maple and Chilam made their debut in the industry as a duo, and they released their first single, “A Modern Love Story”, in 1991 to immense success. At the time, there were rumors saying that the duo fell in love with each other and had been secretly dating, but these rumors went up in smoke a year later, when it was reported that Chilam was pursuing Anita.
Athena Chu (朱茵) – Chilam and Athena starred in TVB’s 1994 remake of The Legend of the Condor Heroes <射鵰英雄傳>, portraying Guo Jing and Huang Rong respectively. Their onscreen chemistry was praised, and it was reported that Chilam and Athena were really close on set. However, Chilam and Athena went their separate ways soon after The Legend of the Condor Heroes ended its Hong Kong broadcast. Seven years later, the onscreen couple came together again to star in the 2004 film, Stowaway <驚天大逃亡>.
Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼) – Chilam and Charmaine became a fan-favorite onscreen couple after starring in the 2000 TVB drama, Return of the Cuckoo <十月初五的月光>. Chilam and Charmaine continued to pair up in future dramas, films, and even commercial films. There were tabloids reports saying that Anita often visited Chilam and Charmaine on set in order to “watch over” Chilam.
Fala Chen (陳法拉) – Reports say that when Chilam and Fala were shooting Triumph in the Skies 2 in Europe last year, they had extremely “intimate” interactions. Chilam clarified later that he and Fala are just friends.

Chilam has too many rumours to count ever since he dated Anita, Anita must be busy verifying each and every one of them. However I believe the rumour of him straying with Charmaine is true based on Charmaine’s personality and Anita’s reaction at that time.

I heard about that too but good that Chilam is still with Anita. It is hard to not stray in the circle because temptation is just soooo high, which is why people from outside the circle are afraid to be involved with anyone from the e circle.
I never like Charmaine to begin with. She is very flirtatious and too manja most of the time. So i am not surprised she made a pass at Chi Lam. She is the HK equivalent of Lin Chi Ling. Just can’t stand the both of them. Too manja and can’t act and think they are some sort of goddess esp Chi Lin. Give me Joey Wang, Cherrie Chung and Rosamund Kwan anytime these r timeless natural beauty. Pity no Internet during their era if not I am sure they will b very very famous

Chilam and his rumors .. never thought he was such a “perfect husband” from the beginning. Main reason being, he was good friends with Aaron Kwok. Of course there are those exceptions but I’m a firm believer that friends ultimately influence one another’s behavior.
That is true to some extent, but honestly I don’t think you should blame the fact that he is friends with Aaron Kwok with him being faithful or not. Your friends do influence you to some extent, but the decision to do anything is still in your hands. Also, who is the “perfect” husband or perfect anything?? There is no such thing as being “perfect”.
Perfect is in the eye of the beholder. For me, I’m pretty content with Sean Lau, Jacky Cheung, Chow Yun Fat, Tony Leung Ka Fei .. to name a few.

Peers can be such an influence. Some men becomes more daring when they are with or getting peers or if their peers are doing it than when they’re alone and easier to control themselves. Aaron Kwok’s playful behavious might’ve rubbed off on Chilam.

Chilam is nice to look at as an entertainer, but I wouldn’t want someone like him as my husband. Imagine the worry that Anita faced when his husband is constantly being linked with his costars. She may look nonchalance in front of camera but she wouldn’t say what she said about preferring to be in ignorance if there wasn’t anything. Chilam is too cute and friendly and girls will swarm over him. I wouldn’t want that life.
Chilam’s friendship with the philandering casanova Aaron Kwok doesn’t sound healthy to keep Chilam out of trouble without Anita keeping him in toes.

Perhaps having fewer reporters digging up the past would be the best way to support actors and actresses in their marriages. Chilam and Anita have been together happily for a long time; why start new and unnecessary rumors or repeat old ones? I sometimes feel that HK tabloids find artists who live decent lives to be too boring…and thus needy of fabricated scandals.
Agree. I don’t think it is a good idea for the reporters to dig up the past rumours of the artistes especially when their drama series is airing. Whatever happened in the past is gone now. Why should they bring it up to hurt the artistes and their marriages? Everyone has his/her past no matter it is right or wrong. I think it is a shame for the reporters to make such unnecessary noises.

I watched an interview with Anita before and she said she doesn’t mind if her husband has flings as long as she doesn’t knows about it and it is not love. As long as it is lust she can accepts it if she didn’t find out. The interview was a few years ago at an event or something and the reporters asked her about Chilam and would she mind if he has other women outside or something like that.

It’s not an answer I’d expect to hear from a normal wife with a loyal husband.Therefore I was also suspicious if it was because of her personal experience with Chilam. You can’t deny it, Chilam is a very good looking baby faced man and is a woman charmer with those dimples. He also can be over friendly and chummy with costars or friends and some women might get the wrong idea.
I’ve seen several interviews where she mentioned it too. Whenever ask if she is scared or mind that Chilam might be out there flirting/cheating, she always says that as long as she doesn’t know, then it’s fine… aka stay ignorant because ignorance is bliss! and that she doesn’t mind Chilam lying to her about it (if it were true), but he has to do so for the rest of her life.
I don’t see it as an insecurity of hers that she might not be good enough to “keep” her husband. I think she’s the type that if at the end of the day, he comes home to her, then she can pretend nothing happens.

When Chilam speaks seriously as an instructor in PPP class (Ep. #11), I don’t think he is that handsome. However, he looks super handsome when he flirts with girls and smiles showing his dimples.
He is the right actor for the handsome playboy pilot in TITS 2, Captain Cool.

I think when Anita married Chilam, such a handsome and charming husband, she kind of expected that it might happen, and she also knew Chilam’s personality very well. That is why she talked about her thoughts in one of the shows about Chilam’s rumours with other females.
I think being handsome/cute/hot/pretty is not an excuse to cheat on your significant other.
On the show 星星同学会 hosted by Sandra wu and chin ka lok, they invited anita once and anita said she never checks on chilam and if chilam does flings he better not have any accidents. Law lan told anita that she doesn’t need to check on chilam as he’s a very good man.
I remembered that show too. I “admired” Anita’s comments on Chilam.
I recently re-watched that. Her comments were funny. I think one of their conversations (that she disclosed) went something like this:

It’s kinda expected for all marriages that men goes out there to seek for a little pleasure even if he’s a good man of all good man. The thing is how the wife will handle the situation, which I think Anita handles it well by saying that she will be fine if she doesn’t find out considering Chilam is such a good looking husband. I guess if the rumours become too much, then she would personally check on it and confront Chilam. Otherwise, she’s contented to let sleeping dogs lie because in their industry, there’s bound to be lots of gossips to break up marriages.
Anita has always given me the impression that she has really high EQ and pride. She also has a strong personality so she wouldn’t let herself be “stepped on.” If someone wrongs her, she wouldn’t tolerate it silently…so if she ever found out, I don’t think they’d be where they are right now.
Starting from Athena Chu down to Fala Chen are all 廢話. Tabloids always go on, creating rumours like this just because they work together.
Also, I think they are just trying to make news, because they are starting from 1992. Yea, people want news, but news is like something new, not something thats been talked about already. Why couldn’t their title show that Chilam was a successful man instead of pointing out all these rumours?
