Hawick Lau and Yang Mi Considered Most Valuable Show Biz Couple
Back in the day, it was the norm for artists in the Chinese entertainment industry to keep quiet about their personal lives. Some idols did not even announce their marriage until years after the fact. But in recent years, the trend has shifted toward public acknowledgment of celebrity relationships, with announcements being posted on microblogs or airing on national television. In order to celebrate Chinese Valentine’s Day, Anhui TV published a list of popular couples within the industry, along with their combined worth. Topping the list are Hawick Lau (劉愷威) and Yang Mi (楊冪), followed closely by Huang Xiaoming (黃曉明) and Angelababy (楊穎).
Couples like Hawick and Yang Mi, Yan Kuan (嚴寬) and Sunny Du (杜若溪), and Li Chen (李晨) and Viann Zhang (張馨予) are all similar in that they announced their relationships using Sina Weibo. Last month, Jimmy Lin (林志穎) and his model girlfriend Kelly Chen (陳若儀) even broadcast their wedding ceremony over Weibo. According to a well-known Weibo user named “Gossip Detective” (八卦探长), the reason behind these public love announcements is simple: getting better ratings and box office results. By inviting recognized couples to act together in movies and dramas and to appear together in television programs, there is a better guarantee of higher monetary gain.
For its Chinese Valentine’s Day party, Anhui TV hoped to gather some of the industry’s most well-known couples and rank them according to their combined worth. Although neither Hawick Lau nor Huang Xiaoming were able to attend the event, they nabbed first and second place with their respective partners, Yang Mi and Angelababy. Mainland Chinese couple Wen Zhang (文章) and Ma Yili (馬伊琍) landed in third place.
Many couples openly displayed their affection for one another during the Valentine’s Day event, including mainland Chinese actors Hans Zhang (張翰) and Zheng Shuang (鄭爽). Close friends since they starred together in Let’s Watch the Meteor Shower Together <一起來看流星雨>, the two were rumored to be an item, though they never confirmed these speculations. During the event, however, they stroked each other’s faces and tightly embraced one another, seemingly publicizing their relationship for the first time.

Pardon me for saying this but this so called “Golden Couple” really can’t act! Harwick Lau’s expression is always so botoxy and Yang Mi’s acting sucks BIG TIME! There are so many better and talented Chinese actors besides them.
Yang Mi and Hawick are pretty but they are plastic surgery pretty type.
Look at Hawick pic above why he looks so plastic kind like some shining patches and tightening on his face lo.
They’re one good looking couple, never seen any of the girl’s projects but Hawick is a pretty good actor.
