Linda Chung to Take a Break After Filming “Tiger Cubs 2”

Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣) is overly stressed recently. From the pressure of preparing for her first solo concert to the rushing of completing Tiger Cubs 2 <飛虎 II>, it is of no surprise that the 29-year-old did not even bother to hide her bad mood during the filming for Tiger Cubs 2 last week.
Linda’s first solo concert, Love Love Love, was held on August 22 and 23 at the Kowloonbay International Trade & Exhibition Center. In addition to exhaustive preparations, the negative critical reviews that Linda had garnered from her concert – old-fashioned costumes, poor vocal abilities, less-than-stellar dancing, and uncharismatic stage presence – notably contributed to Linda’s recent downcast mood.
Exhausted from lack of spirit and sleep, Linda looked far from happy during the filming of Tiger Cubs 2 on August 29. Linda was unusually quiet and displayed a short attention span as she listened to the action choreographer. When it was her time to film, Linda kept on slipping and shots had to be retaken.
During the break, Linda rarely interacted with the crew and sat in a far corner. When a crew member came up to her to ask if she wanted water, Linda dully replied, “I don’t want it. I only drink Pocari Sweat (Japanese sports drink).” She immediately called another crew member to purchase the drink for her.
When bystanders stopped by to ask for photographs, Linda pretended she did not hear them. When she noticed a reporter snapping photos of her, she angrily said, “Can you silent your camera?”
After shooting Tiger Cubs 2, Linda will not accept any job offers and return to Canada for a long break.
“Yes, I will be on a break,” said Linda. “I want to rest.”
Tabloids reported that Linda lost the spirit to continue her career as an artist after negative reviews of her concert were published, but Linda denied the reports, expressing that she has read good reviews so far.
“My friends have reacted positively so far. I am satisfied with my performance. The whole point of the concert was to promote love, and my fans said they felt it.”

Sometimes I feel she’s too nice for the complicated world of entertainment industry. Singing is nothing impressive but acting on the other hand if given the right roles(villains) she can do well but too bad TVB is not giving her that opportunity.
Yes. She is indeed too nice and innocent for this industry but luckily people she met are nice and not complicated. It’s the media that makes an artist life complicated. The stuff they write about an artist can be so untrue but readers sometimes choose to believe it. Of course there will be some people that thinks Linda’s whole innocent good girl image is all fake. What can u do. Cannot please everyone.
I think she is tired and will retire sooner than we think. There are many nice people that are able to survive well so she definitely can.

@yeung4life: you go to a restaurant, eat some food, foods taste bad, but the chef tell you “why don’t you cook it yourself to see if you can be better than me?”.
Fala’s acting in emotional scenes in Trumph is bad, people have been criticizing her, she turns around and tell people to go and act themselves to see if they can be better than her.

Linda should sing for charity. I like her theme songs, they were truly for her to sing. She has a weak but sweet voice.
I’m not supporting Linda coz I feel sorry for her – I really look up to her as my idol – she’s really different to other immoral actresses (Kate Tsui from Relic of an Emissary and Fala Chen from TITS eg)
Linda, like Tavia, don’t accept intimate scenes adn thank god they have set limits/boundaries.

Wait just because actresses film intimate scenes it makes them immoral? What kind of logic is that? You do know it’s part of acting and it’s not like the actresses are actually promiscuous themselves. Besides Linda and Tavia had their fair share of intimate scenes throughout their career, it does not matter who did more than the other, it most certainly does not make one immoral by following their professional ethical code as an artiste.

if this article is true, then linda really needs to grow up and accept reality, the fact is she can’t sing and needs to improve vastly on her acting along with other fandans.

I don’t think this report is true except she wants to take a break after this drama. Just take a break, recharge and continue your best on whatever opportunity u get. Linda have seen bad comments since 2004!!! from people saying she sucks in acting in 2004 to now people actually accept her acting or love her acting. then 2008 they said she sucks in singing to now she is more stable with her singing and is able to open a concert. Yes of course still got lots of people don’t like her singing. That’s fine. It’s your opinion but lots of other people don’t mind her singing and she have improved.

I personally don’t enjoy Linda’s singing but I think the negative reviews are most probably inferred from online comments from netizens who did not even attend her concert but judged Linda’s performances & whatnot anyway from the uploaded video clips. Understand that the atmosphere of a live concert is extremely different from just watching videos. The paid audience are most likely Linda’s fans, supporters and friends so unlikely they would badmouth Linda to the press.
Yes that’s right. It’s all the comments from the haters. Everyone that attend the concert loved it and it was a very touching concert for her fans and Linda herself. Too bad this one news make it sounds like the concert was a failure which it is NOT! She did ok for her first concert.
Her concert could be a success, but it does not mean that Linda Chung sang well at the concert.
If she just wants to please her fans, she has already done it. However, if she wants to be a good professional singer, she failed in her concert.

No young stars in HK can really sing, dance and act now. so you are not the only one. just accept it and improve yourself.
I can only believe this article 50% if not less because in many cases, the truth is stretched out badly and I feel like this is what happened. Linda’s motive for being quiet and stressful may not have been because of the negative reviews of her concerts, rather the stress of portraying a difficult role in Tiger Cubs 2. Or, it may have been just the overload work that she’s been given and she has a hard time focusing and concentrating. Everything else is probably true such as taking a short break on filming, or shutting out reporters, because her behavior isn’t the best but understandable. Let her be, I’m sure the negative comments about her show won’t hurt her because of the positive feedback from her friends and family, and her own satisfaction. She’s said multiple times she is happy with the results so why dwell on her concert further? She is definitely not a bad singer because bad singers can’t be sugar coated for all these years.

I think every artiste should take a break after filming something. It will help them to re-energize. I mean, I only went to school for 2 days and I am already tired! But as long as she worked hard and did her part, that’s good enough for me!
And since she lives in Vancouver, it means that I have another chance of seeing her! Hehe.
Yea the realities of day-to-day existence are challenging, and setbacks common u know n rare is the person who doesnt encounter times of major challenge along d way. Anyways,bet her perseverance gonna make her bounce back with a more dynamite approach mann!

She’s human, even with the sweet & innocent face/personality.
She’ll have bad days and it’s not always easy to face the prying HK media. Being unhappy and stressed is something that will always accompany life. Whatever the reason may be that is causing her to feel down, she’ll get over it.

I think the HK tabloid just wanted to make it a big issue after her concert. Linda Chung probably just wanted to take a good rest in her home town with her family in Vancouver. She did it from time to time anyway.

I think people are just too sensitive. Linda Chung did not say how long her break will be. If it lasts for more than 10 months, then perhaps she is pregnant like Aimee Chan. I doubt it though.
