Ron Ng Is a Cat and Dog Lover
When Ron Ng (吳卓羲) is not working, he likes to spend time with his pets, three cats and a golden retriever. With their unconditional love, Ron is able to feel secure and at ease in the company of his pets.
Triumph in the Skies 2 < 衝上雲宵II> has just ended its run on television. Over the ten years since its first installment, Ron has matured as an actor. Even co-star, Francis Ng (吳鎮宇) saw a marked difference and as a result, treated Ron differently on the set of the sequel. Ron said, “Ten years ago, I was a newcomer. Francis used to tell me what feelings to put into each scene. Now, he will question why I acted a certain way. He will not tell me directly what to do, but will give me space to reflect and express myself.” Ron felt fortunate that he has veteran actor Francis as his mentor.
Stress Reliever
Outside of work, Ron’s solution to de-stress is to spend time with his pets. While Ron has always loved dogs, his love for cats only came about after seeing his friend’s felines. Because of his love for animals, Ron’s house is always filled with them. Currently, his pets include his three cats: 13-year-old Ah Zip, 14-year-old BB and 4-year-old Coffee, as well as his 14-year-old golden retriever, Ah Mo.
Although Ron loves his pets and took care of them for years, he now has to witness their suffering due to advanced years. Ah Mo suffers from joint pains and hearing loss. BB who suffered from sinus since young, was recently found with a tumor in his ear and an enlarged cyst beside his kidney. If he can prevent it, Ron would not subject the elderly animals to undue stress by putting them through surgeries. Ron prefers to spend more quality time with them and let them have their favorite foods, as long as their health are not compromised.
Young Coffee
When Ron needs to play rough with his pets, he will choose the younger Coffee as his partner. Ron had initially wanted to stop getting more pets, but when he saw his friend’s cat’s kitten, it was love at first sight. He named the cat Coffee, who replaced his deceased cat of the same name. Ron said, “Actually affinity also plays a part when it comes to pets. I did not think much about the first three black cats I saw. But when I set my eyes on the only gray one my friend showed me, the unique pattern on its fur makes it look more like a stray cat than a pedigree. I felt it was so special that I decided to bring it home.”
Surprisingly, Coffee also got along well with the older animals though the other two cats hardly play with it. While Ah Mo may sometimes entertain the younger cat, most of the time he is just as happy playing by himself while entertaining Ron.

None of us know Ron personally so how would we know for sure how he is??? But I guess the feeling that we get from various reports, interviews and all do give us an impression. My impression of Ron is not too bad and he seems like a nice guy overall. Not all pet lovers are nice and kind people because I have known some who are not nice people. However, a majority of them are pretty nice people and I can see why you say that because if they are willing to put out the effort to love and take care of animals then that does kind of partially show how their character is. I remember Taiwanese actress Yue Ling, she took in 12 injured and sick dogs who were ill and abandoned and took care of them until they recovered. That truly shows what a nice person she is. Vivian Chow seems like a nice and sweet person who loves her pets too. Generally, I do agree with you that many who are nice and kind do love their pets and all. But it still varies from case to case.
Yeah, it is quite a general comment that a person who loves animals is a kind and loving person too. I have a cute toy poodle and loves her very much… so you know what i am trying to imply, right? … hahaha
Pet lover doesn’t mean they are nice and kind. They just have a lot of pets cuz they are lonely and has no kids yet.

Yea, pets are simply amazing if you treat them well. Not only dogs and cats, but even pigs and other animals can save your life in many cases.

I will feel sad for Ron in a few years time as his older pets are quite old. Lucky he still has coffee. I am glad to find out this side to Ron. I love animals and like people whole love animals.
the more i read about ron, the more i like him.
I did not like him when he first started acting. He has an arrogant look and always portraying hot-headed guy. But lately I grew fond of him too. 🙂
