Ron Ng Supports Chilam Cheung For TV King
Ron Ng (吳卓羲) is rooting for Chilam Cheung (張智霖) to win Best Actor at this year’s TVB Anniversary Awards.
Once a heavily promoted artist, Ron’s career has been hampered over the past few years by negative rumors and forgettable performances. Although he remains a staple on screen, few of his roles stood out and Ron seemed tired of the daily grind. Luckily for fans, Ron finally found his momentum once again after participating in this year’s popular drama Triumph in the Skies 2 <衝上雲霄 II>. Even though he was simply reprising his role from the original series, he most certainly benefited from the sequel’s enthusiastic reception.
A changing point in his stalled career, Ron has returned with a more mature mindset and a better work ethic. Currently filming modern thriller Semi Evil Man <忠奸人>, Ron seems more dedicated to his craft, unafraid of performing his own action stunts. Portraying a police officer once again, Ron was professional as he slid down a two-story tall escalator and had no complaints when he was asked to do so three more times. Despite ruining an expensive pair of jeans, Ron kept a smile on his face, different from his past brooding attitude.
Perhaps grateful for his recent successes and finally making peace with his work, Ron is willing to give TVB priority when it comes to contract negotiations. With his current management deal expiring next year, Ron admits that he is considering various offers but said, “No one would know who I am if it wasn’t for TVB.”
While Ron is humble about his own chances at this year’s TVB Anniversary Awards, he eagerly shows his support for Triumph in the Skies 2 co-stars Chilam Cheung and Francis Ng (吳鎮宇). “It would be best if both of them win an award,” adding that Francis has a good chance to take home My Favorite Male Television Character.

What you mean he is not a good actor? Hes a great actor.
I think his a decent actor and very useable that’s what I mean he still has lots to improve on and he has the potential to become one of the best actors in hk

I’m really happy with rons new work ethic! I think his Isaac was his best role yet! Tvb needs to give him more opportunities, even though he’s had numerous rumors. He’s fought through them and has really grown. Add oil, Ron

Yeah! I totally enjoyed his Isaac role in TITS2. He was so natural and had so much chemistry with his partners, Francis especially. Really well done.

I doubt he’ll win any award! TVB just doesn’t favor him no matter what he does. They just keep him as their temporary police officer.

I feel like if TVB is playing fair (which we all know… it won’t happen), the biggest winner is hands down Francis Ng. His chances of winning Favorite TV male character is almost on par with Chilam, if not even higher. Not only that, Triumph in the Skies 2 has to be the winner drama this year with the heavy weight cast plus outstanding rating. TV King, who’s his rival!?
