Moses Chan Interested in Appearing in Parenting Reality TV Show
Moses Chan (陳豪) announced earlier that his exclusive contract with TVB is expiring early next year. Although he insisted that TVB remains as his first choice, he has delayed contract renewal after his longtime manager decided to resign from TVB. It has been said that in order to convince Moses to return, TVB is planning to produce a variety program tailor-made for Moses.
Originating from South Korea, the hit variety show Dad, Where Are We Going? has spawned several versions all over Asia. TVB’s own version, titled Where Are We Going, Dad? <爸B也Upgrade> has also received popularity in Hong Kong and Southeast Asia, and Moses, whose wife Aimee Chan (陳茵媺) recently gave birth to their first-born son Aiden, is reportedly interested in starring in a similar show for TVB.
Moses explained that he has been following the Dad show and watched a few episodes of the original Korean variety show. He praised the program’s ability to showcase the loving relationships between parents and their kids, saying, “It allows the kids to expose some of their own cute personalities, and we can also see how the kids interact with their parents. As parents it is important to always be there for your children and to help them make decisions. It greatly benefits the kids when they grow up and start working in the outside world.”
Asked if Moses is interested in hosting a similar variety program for TVB, he stated, “I welcome it. I think it’s good for an artist to try other jobs besides doing dramas. It helps our development.”
Though Moses is interested in doing a variety show, he is against doing a program that follows the same format as the Dad show, saying, “If it’s an exact copy of it, then I will not do it. I like things with a bit of creativity. I am someone who chases after programs with significance. If it just show us bringing kids home and cooking together, talking together, I don’t think there is much meaning to it. I want to do something at a deeper level.”
Moses: “Being a Mother is not Simple”
Moses expressed that his newborn son Aiden has changed his views toward life, pointing out that he can now clearly understand how difficult it must have been for his mother to raise him and his two brothers after his father passed away. “Family has now become the significance of my life. I understand how hard it is to be a mother, and it’s not just my wife, but every mother, including my own. It’s a huge sacrifice, and it takes a lot of effort and care to cultivate a child, and to teach a child.”
With recent terms such as “monster parents” and “helicopter parents” being popular words to describe parents who go to extreme measures to look after their children, Moses said he does not agree with those terms, saying, “All parents should love their children and fight for what is best for them. It’s absolutely legitimate. You can’t say they are being ‘monsters’. As for whether or not these parents are really pushing the limits, that is because we all have our own views on what we think is the right thing to do. In my opinion, I think it is necessary to give pressure at appropriate times, but too much is not necessarily a good thing. We need to find a balance so our children can grow up in a healthy and relaxing environment.”

He is too conservative to be able to appear in any reality show which tends to be very very intrusive.
It is a big sacrifice to be a father too since traditionally the father is the one that has to carry the financial burden which is the foundation of it all.
Key word here is “traditionally”. Men like that are “rare” these days. Nowadays, it is usually the woman of the house pulling most of the weight, especially if there are children.
I actually see the guys doing more these days but it really varies. These dates women need to work as well so it is not the typical guys have to work and the girls just stay at home with the kids. These days men help with the kids as well.
Meant to say these days.
I’m not a fan or reality TV, so i wonder, how could an intrusive, in your face, unscripted (reality) TV be anything but meaningful? Quality and bonding time with your child are precious moments, private moments, how your child develops, quirks and all are not meant for TV.
Used to like him but since the Bernice incident I’m seeing a different side of him and I don’t like it.he seems so fake to me and his wife Aiimee she has such a fake smile.
