Dream Girls Releases First Full-Length Album
Taiwanese girl group Dream Girls is back in the Mandopop music scene with their first full-length studio album Beautiful Top News <美麗頭條>. The trio, consisting of members Tia Lee (李毓芬), Puff Kuo (郭雪芙), and Korean member Emily Song (宋米秦), debuted in 2011 with their self-titled EP, Dream Girls. In December 2012, the girls released their second EP Girl’s Talk, their most successful album.
The pop-infested Beautiful Top News, which was released by Linfair Records on December 27, 2013, consists of twelve tracks, three of which are solo tracks from the group’s three members. Produced by Anthony Chu (朱敬然), David Tao’s (陶喆) frequent collaborator, the album’s lead plug “Beautiful Top News” unveiled its music video on YouTube on December 19, 2012. Combining modern hip hop melodies with 1930s throwback rock, the track is the epitome of the “DG power”, Dream Girls’ own music style. The song sends a message saying that news headlines should not be just about society, rumors, and gossip, but it should also be a medium to send more love and touching stories to readers.
The music video for the album’s second plug, “Listening to You” <聽你說>, was released ten days later. With its soothing tone and romantic lyrics, the single is a perfect song to play at weddings.

most of them are like that. they think skinny is beautiful. voice is just barely ok, just another girl group, nothing special.

I saw them live at the Taipei countdown concert and they were horrendous! They honestly can’t sing or dance. I like Puff tho, I think she’s cute.

They’re really a group just put together because they’re pretty. I feel bad for Emily though, because she spent so much money to come to Taiwan to be a part of Dream Girls, yet she’s the least popular and least known of the three members. I would honestly say Puff is the most talented of everyone (acting wise). Tia is just…all a face, and Emily is…well, not really known. They’re not music performance material – they’re just made for looks.
