Louis Koo, Sean Lau’s “Overheard 3” Opens May 30

Starring Louis Koo (古天樂), Sean Lau (劉青雲), and Daniel Wu (吳彥祖), Alan Mak (麥兆輝) and Felix Chong’s (莊文強) upcoming Hong Kong-Chinese crime thriller Overheard 3 <竊聽風雲3> will open on May 30, 2014 in Hong Kong. Overheard 3 is the third film in the successful Overheard series, which stars Louis, Sean, and Daniel as a trio of surveillance experts. All three installments are unrelated to each other, but key investigative elements are retained.

Overheard 3 is set in the 1980s, and stars Sean as a ruthless real estate tycoon from Hong Kong. Louis and Daniel respectively star as an ex-convict and an investigator, both committed to take down a group of businessmen who are using wiretapping methods to obtain confidential information about the Hong Kong government’s plans on its real estate development industry.

Zhou Xun Makes Supporting Appearance

Yesterday Louis Koo, Sean Lau, and Zhou Xun (周迅) attended a press conference for Overheard 3 in Hong Kong. Though Zhou Xun is prominently featured in the film’s teaser poster, she maintained that she will only be making a small guest appearance in the thriller.

Zhou Xun said she portrays a “simple and clear-minded mother who is bullied by tycoons” in the film. The award-winning actress also remarked that she is more than willing to work in a supporting role for Louis Koo and Sean Lau.

Recently, Zhou Xun and her new manager, Hong Kong musician Chan Fai Hung (陳輝虹), have been headlining news with their romantic rumors. Chan Fai Hung also accompanied Zhou Xun to the Hong Kong press meet yesterday and was by her side. Despite the rumors, Zhou Xun and Chan Fai Hung did not avoid each other and were often seen smiling at each other.

Sean Lau Finds Louis Koo “Annoying”

At the Hong Kong press conference, new character posters for the film were unveiled. Noting that Sean and Louis have collaborated in many films together, a reporter asked Sean if he felt “annoyed” having to see Louis all the time.

Sean joked, “Of course. It’s annoying. I see him everywhere now. In commercials too. I can’t get rid of him. Good thing we usually don’t meet up or contact each other. We don’t have meals together. I usually don’t keep the contacts of my coworkers. It’s only recently that I got his number. We rarely meet up. We usually like to stay at our own homes all day.”
