Raymond Lam: “It’s Not Time for Marriage Yet”

Although Raymond Lam (林峯) and Karena Ng‘s (吳千語) relationship is closely scrutinized by the media, the couple has managed to keep their relationship steady and healthy. Naturally, rumors of the pair being engaged or having marriage plans often crowd gossip headlines. Raymond decided to formally address these rumors at his latest concert in Macau.

On his fourth world tour concert A Time 4 You, which was held at The Venetian Macao’s Cotai Arena, Raymond performed in front of approximately 15,000 fans. Raymond’s set list included 24 hit songs and a long encore segment.

In the encore video, Raymond’s band members and dancers recorded a segment of Raymond discussing about his plans for retirement and marriage. After showing the video, Raymond immediately clarified to his friends, “This is also my first time watching this clip. I never said I’m retiring. I still have more concerts to do.

A fan then shouted, “Just get married already!” to Raymond, who laughed and replied, “I’m not in a hurry. You’re more worried about it than me!”

In a later interview, Raymond clarified again that he has no plans for retirement or marriage anytime soon. “I still want to hold my fifth concert in Macau.” Raymond’s girlfriend, Karena, was absent at the Macau concert, but Raymond said she had already supported him at his Hong Kong show. He once again denied marriage rumors, saying, “There are still so many things left to try in my career.” Asked if he has thought of marriage, he said, “Of course I’ve thought about it, but it’s not on the schedule yet.”

Is it because Karena is still young? Raymond said, “So are you implying that I’m old? It’s just the timing is wrong. When the right time comes, it’ll happen.”
