Andy Hui Grateful for Sammi Cheng’s Support During Brother’s Death

It was reported multiple times in the past that Andy Hui (許志安) and Sammi Cheng (鄭秀文) married in Bali, Indonesia last year, but Andy did not confirm this piece of news at recent event, implying that the Cantopop singers are still engaged.

Last week at the funeral of Andy’s elder brother, Andy and Sammi presented a wreath of flowers that read, “younger brother Andy and younger sister-in-law, Sammi.” Sammi was also seen wearing a wedding ring.

At an awards ceremony event for Prince Jewellery & Watch Premier Cup, which was held on June 8, 2014 in Sha Tin, Andy was asked if he is engaged to Sammi, but his answers remain vague. “I’ve talked about this many times. What I want to say is that the two families already have a so-called recognition of our relationship. Therefore, after we discussed about what to put on the wreath, we hoped that my brother would be happy and pleased to receive these flowers. This is respect for my brother. Yes, the most important thing is how our two families see our relationship.”

After mourning for his brother, Andy said it is now time to return to work. “We all have to eventually face these challenges in life. I’ve now learned how to find peace within sadness. I will now positively face my work. My brother would be happier this way. I’ve also witnessed the sacrifices my sister-in-law had to make, and she handled them really well.”

Andy  is very grateful for Sammi’s patience and support during his period of grieving. “She is very supportive. I am most touched at how she makes me feel like she is walking the road with me.” Andy added that their love felt as if it were everlasting.
