Raymond Cho Seen Washing Dishes at His Restaurant
Raymond Cho (曹永廉) is regarded as one of TVB’s most popular second-line actors. The 49-year-old debuted as a singer in 1994 and signed with TVB the follow year, debuting in the drama Journey of Love <親恩情未了>. Though Raymond was never given the opportunity to lead a series by himself, he still had many memorable roles as a supporting actor, including Healing Hands II’s <妙手仁心II> Chris, The Confidant’s <大太監> An Dehai, and most recently, Ghost Dragon of Cold Mountain’s <寒山潛龍> Hung Sap Kau.
Though Raymond has been filming TVB dramas consistently over the last 20 years, his acting career alone cannot guarantee long-term sustainability. Last year, Raymond opened a Hong Kong style cafe by the Shun Lee Disciplined Services Quarter in the Kwun Tong District.
Raymond would help out at the restaurant whenever he is free from filming. Recently, Raymond was spotted at his restaurant taking orders from customers. The hardworking and capable Raymond also cleaned the tables and washed the dishes.
Raymond has recently finished filming TVB modern drama Overachievers <商戰>, previously known as Trade Wars, which also stars Wayne Lai (黎耀祥), Raymond Wong (黃浩然), Edwin Siu (蕭正楠), and Power Chan (陳國邦). Raymond will soon begin shooting the Amy Wong (王心慰) drama Lord of Shanghai <梟雄>, which has already begun filming. Lord of Shanghai stars Anthony Wong (黃秋生), Kent Tong(湯鎮業), and Wayne Lai.

Wow, Raymond DOES NOT look his age at all! He even looks younger than Kenneth Ma in GDCM, and probably in real life, too. Haha… Anyways, I love that he brought so much life to his Hung Sap Kau character. Had me laughing hard in many scenes. One of many hardworking, underrated actors who deserve better.
But Kenneth MA by himself looks young for his age!
That’s because he’s always got this silly, goofy look on his face! Haha… Don’t get me wrong, I think he does a really good job in his comedic roles. And he’s got this boyish smile. But when he and Raymond stood side by side in GDCM, Raymond with fairer skin looks younger. Close up shots of Kenneth reveals he has bad skin. Raymond @49, looks like he did well keeping his complexion.
wow almost 50? he look so young . thought he will around35ish. i love watching him in every drama
So agree…vivian(my sis)
Wow didnt know that he’s 49. He look pretty good for his age. I hope he’ll get the lead role soon.
second jobs… tvb pay must be bad 🙂
Larry3,
Many TVB artistes are venturing into business. It’s a good move as they have wide recognition but low pay from acting, so might as well turn themselves into a brand and see what services/ products they can offer. The key is finding trustworthy people to help them manage the businesses since artistes like Raymond Cho can only work part-time at their ventures.
I’m still a little surprised to see Raymond washing dishes at his cafe though. Maybe as boss, his time can be utilized better at the cash register or greeting customers?
wow… he is almost 50?? I thought he was still in his early 40’s! I remember I once had a crush on him when I was little haha!
Dear lord! 49?!?!??!?!
Evergreen and handsome!
Raymond Cho looks very young for his age … 49 years old.
I see his role has not changed much in all his dramas. All about liked or hated for being outspoken, and ‘those know him will not like him at first but become friends after knowing him more’, a traitor, a shoe polishers
But I like him just for that. lol
Though he is typecast as a villan most of the time, in The Ghost Dragon of Cold Mountain he acts as a good chap and actually he acted well.
I rated well a man who works hard for the family. He is one of them.
Raymond is way under rated….
i like him alot, low profile ! he has great acting skill too.
Whattt?? 49?? Since whenn.. hung sAp kau so hilarious.
WOW, HE’S 49? He does not look that young but 49 WHOOOOO..haha lol…
I thought he’s in his mid thirties!! He sure ate lots of preservatives!! Lol!!
