    1. The more I look at Charmaine with those attitude expressions the more she reminds me of Carina Lau ><"

      1. Charmaine acts very well in Line Walker that matters. She’s frank, doesnt hide her feelings, its her opinions, nothing else

    2. Thanks for posting the above links to view the video clips.

    3. Poor Ruco just sitting there quietly while that diva attitude queen hog the whole interview. She didn’t even look at ruco and feel so highly of herself. I rather watch ruco and Linda interact. Ruco and Linda had a backstage interview and they are totally humble, nice, kind, and friendly type celebrities

    4. Not trying to make excuse for her but she looks kind of drunk…

      1. Was the interview conducted right after the ceremony? If so, Charmaine might be drunk.

      2. I just watched the first clip above, and Charmaine definitely looks drunk. That is not her usual attitude or behaviour at all. If not drunk, I can’t think of another reason…..Plus, she was kind of swaying her head around and she seemed so drowsy and out of it. No way would any celeb act like that in front of the camera in normal circumstances, and Charmaine definitely would know better.

    5. Am I the only one but Charmaine doesnt seem to be rude or arrogant in any of the above links. She seems to be drunk or sad but she doesnt say anything rude or have vurgal actions. Are you guys too nip-picking toward her? Or inflate the small issue to be big one? In fact, after watching the interview, I like her for thanking the crew of LW and mentioned of them. The others didnt say anything to thank their colleagues, just all me me messages. If Ah Sheh is considered as rude here, those me me messages are ruder.

      1. I support and agree with you. Don’t because of that video to spoil the image of Charmaine. If Charmaine is rude, do you think she will have reputation as she has today. She is has so many good reputable frens in the entertainment industry.

      2. I think those anti-fans just found more excuses to criticize Charmaine Sheh or at least not to like her even she acted so well in “Line Walker”.

      3. I dont know if they really her anti-fans or they just want to make her look bad in order to down her victory, also the victory of LW. They somehow feel scared that LW can surpass something they favoured. Maybe not all of them but I can sense such thing from some posts.

      4. Well said, I don’t find her arrogant or rude mre like she is sad or dissapointed maybe because no other then her took home a award for LW.

      5. I’m actually a Charmaine fan so I don’t like saying this, but she definitely seemed a bit rude/diva-ish to me. Besides the interview, the green carpet walk with Kristal was all kinds of awkward too. Maybe she was just too tired or drunk as you guys have suggested, or she just felt a bit out of place cos she’s not really close to any of the other award attendees (eg. maybe she barely knows Ruco at all, hence the lack of any interaction between them)

      1. She talked a bit funny at the interview. That is not her usual self at the interview. Usually she was very poised and tactful.

      2. I certainly hope she’s just drunk then seeing the many comments about her interview attitude.

  1. Guys that saying charm was rude etc on the award presentation. I don’t know if you have watch her speach, she was actually thanking everyone from the LW team and said that the award is not for her but for all of the LW crew b/c without them she wouldn’t have had the chance to get this award. So saying she is arrogant and think she is top of everything is just so rude comment from those based haters.

    1. I think being a well-liked artiste, you will have to be 110+% tactful and “fake”. Otherwise, it will give chances for those fans who don’t like you to attack you. Sad, even in one incident/interview.

    2. I don’t see anything wrong with the interview or carpet walk. So yeah, read my name…

      1. I guess that an artiste should never tell the truth or express his/her personal opinions publicly at either interviews or on his/her blog and Weibo account.

The award is not for Best Acting; it is for Best Personality “shown”.

      2. @Toby: I dont drag anyone in. I even dont mention name or gender. I only take it as an example of how different people can interpret one situation. I interpret one situation negatively while oscar can interpret that situation positively. I dont aim a fan war unless you want to BS it and make it one.

Oscar stated the name out was out of my expectation. Actually reading my post, not many people can guess who I referred to. You interpret it to a person, I may say of a different person, no point to argue.

And even if I put that name in, that person is still relevant to the case here. It is different to what I said about dragging irrelevant people.

      3. Wrong place. Should be the reply for the below topic :).

Anyway, chill out. I dont argue more about that. It was merely an example of different interpretation.

    3. Same here. It is very nice of her to thank the crew of LW and I notice that she is the only one who give thanks to her colleagues in the series. She looks upset but she doesnt rude. No rule that she has to comment about the co-winners. All the criticisms/bashes about her rude attitude or diva behavior here are quite nonsense.

Im even not a fan of Ah Sheh to judge.

      1. She has won enough awards to know how to give politically correct thank you speeches

      2. Thanks for supporting Charmaine Sheh even you are not a fan of Charmaine.

Agree that it is more important to thank her colleagues and crews than to praise her co-winners at the ceremony. She worked with her colleagues and not her co-winners in “Line Walker”. Perhaps she was a bit upset that Raymond Lam was not one of the winners for My Favourite Actor. After all, Raymond was her lover and best colleague in “Line Walker”. I think any co-workers would feel the same as Charmaine did. They both worked really hard to make “Line Walker” good and entertaining.

      3. I think it is a common courtesy to thank the colleagues and crews in any award winning. Any good and professional artistes should do it. Without a good script, a good partner, a good team and a good producer, I don’t think any top-notch artiste will win an award and recognition easily no matter how good he or she acts.

      4. A “Best Artist” award should be given to an artiste with best performance in that year’s drama series, not to someone with best favouritism or best and genuine personality.

I think we should be able to distinguish the difference between best acting and best personality.

      5. Personally I won’t change my mind about an artiste for her best performance just by listening to her 1 or 2-minute interview. If she does it all the time, perhaps it is a different story.

I am sure that Charmaine Sheh should know, after all these years, about the consequences if she deliberately talked with a bad attitude at the interview.

      6. I dont see anyone won StarHub 2014 other than Ah Sheh gives credit to the crew of the series that made them wins. Not in the clips Ive seen. Maybe they thanked else where, I dont know.

I watched a clip when a winner said that the series that winner was nominated with was treated unfair. I was like huh because that series is definitely not the only one who is treated that way. There are some series which never been aired on TVB such as Face to fate or Phoenix rising but I have never seen any from the cast complained anything. That artists joined TVB for few years and gets an award but that artist said something like the award came so late. Oh well, then the artists who are doing supporting roles and cameos for 30 – 40 years can commit suicide now? I wont say the name out because I dont want to create a fan war, but in my opinion, if Ah Sheh is criticized as rude for saying nothing about co-winners, perhaps the artist I mentioned should be considered as villain.

It is just how the audience interpret the interviews, not the accurate situation or the true personality of an artist (not only Ah Sheh). Ah Sheh is fine in the interview, but I find she looked a bit upset. Perhaps something happened to her to make her feel not so comfortable at the award ceremony. However, she still smiled and waved fans without throwing tantrum. I give her credit for that.

Ah Sheh has the right to prefer someone over someone. She has her own opinions but she is polite enough to comment nothing bad to anyone. Not only in StarHub 2014 but also during her career. Although Im not a fan of Ah Sheh but I do admire her for her attitude. Among the TVB artists, the following artists I have never seen them saying a bad word about other people: Ah Sheh, LF and Myolie. They always say good things about others, or keep silent to the bad things.

      7. Oh please alluka. No one is trying to make charmaine look bad cos we ( they’re) afraid of LW whatever. Doesn’t make sense. Some people are just saying they’re surprised and annoyed with her diva attitude. I did mention i thought she was diva-ish and sorta rude but i didnt think it was directed at ruco. As for Ruco’s speech, he wasn’t complaining of unfair treatment for himself or ROE. Rather he was merely telling how he felt when the broadcast was delayed year after year (3 yrs delay is a very long time btw for dramas). Then he followed up by saying he didn’t mind the long wait cos he’s been waiting for so many years already for this moment. You must have missed that.
Actually the link to Charmaine’s interview which got the fans annoyed is not the one posted in this thread. It’s another one with ruco and Charmaine only. I’ll provide the link later when i find it.

      8. Agree. Charmaine Sheh, Raymond Lam and Myolie Wu are the good TVB artistes who are always very tactful when they are interviewed by reporters. They always talked about good things of the other artistes.

I remember that when Charmaine was asked about Sheren Tang’s good acting in “No Regret”, she said she admired Sheren’s fantastic acting with her eyes, and she had to learn to act better with her eyes. There are not many artistes in TVB who always talk about the good things of other artistes.

      9. I think Ruco Chan has to be extra careful in voicing his opinions in the public as he is just a rising star in TVB.

On the other hand, Charmaine Sheh is more free to voice his personal opinions because it won’t affect her status in TVB ……….. she is not a management-contract artiste and she does not have to worry about being frozen. I guess it is her privilege to be able to voice her personal opinions and she does not have to worry about anything happened to her.

      10. This is probabaly the interview the posters are referring to :

        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kK4Uutzq54o

personally i didn’t think much of it, just thought she was talking weird like she was not entirely sober. It’s also her facial expressions not just her words which conveyed a sort of disdain and arrogance. But no big deal to me, i just shrug it off. Different people have different reactions, can’t be helped.

      11. @Alluka IINM you are the one who voiced against others here dragging another artiste to praise or defend another artiste don’t you. So why doing it too. Even without you saying the name, we can interpret who you’re shooting at right there. If you want to criticize an artiste, why not do it openly instead of beating around the bush under the excuse of avoiding ‘fan war’ or something?

I believe those who have criticized Charmaine for her interview attitude have the rights too, just as you have the freedom to criticize that artiste you meant there.

      12. i provided the link i was talking about but it’s under moderation for what reason idk. You can view it later when it’s approved.

      13. personally i didn’t think much of it, just thought she was talking weird like she was not entirely sober. It’s also her facial expressions not just her words which conveyed a sort of disdain and arrogance. But no big deal to me, i just shrug it off. Different people have different reactions, can’t be helped.

      14. @oscar: Your example shows everything about what we are having here. Different people will have different way of interpreting one situation. You may think Ah Sheh is rude but I dont feel the same way. I think she is ok and somehow nice. You have your own interpretation, I have mine. None of us is wrong. I dont know if you have share the feeling like me but I sense the LW grudge in some posts here. Not all, but some make me feel so. Do you think it is coincidence that all the people criticized Ah Sheh here this time are praising the same people at the same time? It doesnt make sense to me.

I dont argue with you about anyone else. I only take it as an example of different interpretation. I dont think I miss anything, just that I have different interpretation to you guys.

Overall, I only want to say that I find the whole criticisms towards Ah Sheh this time is nonsense to me. Even if she was upset that night, she didnt do anything diva-ish.

      15. sandcherry, there was nothing wrong with Ruco’s acceptance speech. He wasn’t complaining about unfair treatment by tvb.

      16. I have on under moderation. In short, I want to say that we are having different interpretations in a same situation. You have your own interpretation, I have mine. None of us is wrong. I dont know if you have share the feeling like me but I sense the LW j-word in some posts here. Not all, but some make me feel so. Do you think it is too random that all the people criticized Ah Sheh here this time are praising the same people at the same time? It doesnt make sense to me.

I watched the clip you given and it doesnt change anything in me. She looks kinda upset, check, she didnt say anything about other artist, check, but arrogant and diva, uncheck. I dont understand how can interpret this one to arrogant and diva attitude.

      17. there was nothing wrong with Ruco’s acceptance speech. He wasn’t complaining about unfair treatment by tvb.
        —————————————————————–
I did not say anything wrong about Ruco Chan’s speech. I just said any rising artistes, like him, should be more careful in their speeches. TVB will easily freeze them if they criticize TVB.

      18. alluka, c’mon we know who you’re talking about. It’s very obvious. Like toby pointed out if you want to criticise, do it openly. Don’t pin the blame on me for mentioning Ruco’s name.

      19. sorry if i interpreted it wrongly sandcherry but it did seem that was what you’re trying to say. Wld like to reiterate that he wasn’t complainig cos he followed up with the words “I don’t mind”.

      20. wasn’t so much what she said but how she said it and the facial expression, that is, the body language. Anyway, i think it’s how we interpret it differently. Personally I’m divided on this issue too.

      21. Different interpretion i guess. Personally I’m divided on this.

      22. Up to you, oscar. Maybe you can know who but not everyone can know. I dont explain or argue on it anymore. It is like how you interpret the diva attitude of Ah Sheh in the clip. Cmon, nothing wrong from it.

Sorry, my above comment is referring to Charmaine’s interview.

      24. alluka, be man/woman enough to admit. Anyone who has watched the clip or show will know who you’re referring to. That’s all i want to say to you. Subject closed.

      25. Then perhaps you can admit that you nip-picked on Ah Sheh for a clip with nothing. Please state out a sentence she said with rudeness or diva attitude.

      26. @Oscar
Sorry that I could not open your link on Charmaine’s interview.

      27. alluka, i didn’t nitpick on Charmaine. I merely provided the link to the clip that the posters here are probably referring to. Anyway I’ve already said my opinion on this is divided.

      28. i’ve also said that it was the way her words were spoken and the expressions. Up to the viewer to interpret.

  2. Let’s be fair to all artists. It’s not fair to keep pin point to one artist even if you do not like her. If you hate her, then just don’t read her news. To all Charmaine’s fan, let’s not bother wat other people said about Charmaine. Let’s continue to support Charmaine and celebrate the victory for each of her award.

    1. Agree and support Charmaine. After all, she outshone everyone so far in 2014 TVB drama series. Cheers!

Hi sandcherry, I don’t know why there is no “Reply to this Comment” under your comment, so I have to reply it here.
I think both of us know who are Chow Yun Fat and Anthony Wong. If you have to choose the “Best Artist” between them, who would you choose? They are both great actors but one that has only best performance and other one has not only best performance but also has best favouritism and best genuine personality as you list above . I think that it isn’t hard for you to choose, right?

    1. No, it won’t be too hard unless both of them have their best performances in the same year. Even so, acting is very subjective. Everyone’s expectation and requirement are different. You and I may not have the same pick.

Personally I don’t think their personalities and favouritism should be included in your pick. It should be judged purely on an artiste’s performance, not on his/her personality and favouritism. Again, this is my personal opinion. I don’t expect every one will be like me.

      1. Personally I don’t think Chow Yun Fat and Anthony Wong always have the best performances in every single movie/drama series. It depends very much on their strengths and the types of characters that they act. Anthony Wong can beat Chow Yun Fat easily, or vice versa. That is why I said “personality and favouritism” should not be included in the judgement of an artiste’s performance as they will easily affect the judging. It will not be a fair decision then.

      2. I am sure that all prestigious awards, such as Oscars awards, are given based on an artiste’s performance, and not on an artiste’s personality and favouritism.

Hi Alluka, Charmaine’s performance in LW is great. Would you mind to translate the below clip to English (I don’t understand Mandarine), just the part that Do Do Chen interviewed Charmaine and her responds. Thanks.
    http://www.56.com/u80/v_MTI3MzUxODIx.html
I heard some rumours that her reply to DoDo was just like adding some salt to someone’s injure but I doubt that this beautiful Charmaine wouldn’t do that.

    1. My understanding of Mandarin is very limited.

From what I understand from the above video clip:

1st part – Dodo Cheng asked Charmaine Sheh about her prospects of getting a boyfriend, and then Dodo passed the mic to Him Law who made a comment.

2nd part – Dodo asked Charmaine to read out the name of a TVB Favourite Actress on her card and Charmaine read it out loudly “Chung Ka Yan”.

3rd part (and the rest) – Linda Chung’s thankyou speech

Please correct me if I am wrong.

    2. Regarding the reply to Dodo, Ah Sheh was asked when she has a boyfriend and Ah Sheh said that when Dodo has one. Two interpretation occurred in this case:

Interpretation 1: Dodo has broke up with Lui Fong, so Ah Sheh add salt to the injury of Dodo.

Interpretation 2: Dodo and Ah Sheh are very close, therefore they dont mind jokes like that.

I go with interpretation 2 because Dodo, as a can see in the clip, didnt feel angry or shocked a second and behind them, people laughed happily (the woman in blue clapped hands) like they understood well what Ah Sheh was joking.

If Dodo doesnt feel upset for that joke, who need to feel upset on her behalf? Moreover, it doesnt seem to be hurtful at all to Dodo. Both of them are independent women, they know about their life.

If this joke is the reason to say Ah Sheh is rude, it is as nonsense as to say about the rudeness showed in her face and mouth movement. She was born with that face and if you find it is a matter, it isnt today the first day she has that face.

Side note: Kate looks stunning that night. The hair, the dress and herself makes a great combo.

    3. @Alluka
Your Mandarin is a lot better than mine. Thanks for the details.

I knew that Dodo was asking Charmaine’s prospect of getting a boyfriend, but I did not catch every single word. I did not see Dodo getting offended by Charmaine’s comments at all. Either they are very good friends, or Dodo got used to that kind of jokes and Charmaine knew it.

As per Kate Tsui’s makeup, I don’t like it personally. She wore too much makeup, which made her look too sophisticated. You can see that everyone has different tastes and preferences, including viewing and interpreting.

      1. Thank you.

For Kate, I think she looks feminine, sweet and glamorous. The makeup and the hair suits her. Talking about the dress, I think the worst ones are Charmaine and Rosina’s. Charmaine’s dress has bad top while Rosina’s looks like a sleeping dress.

      2. I don’t like Charmaine’s dress either. I hate those dresses showing the bra shape.

Don’t know who is Rosina. Who is she? Her Chinese name please.

      3. Who is the one in powder blue long dress? I could not catch her face (only 1/3 was shown in the photo) ….. Chinese source?

Among all the actresses, what I liked the least is Linda Chung’s long dress …….. too simple for the occasion but too busy.

Eliza Sam’s is one of my favourite ones.

Sharon Chan’s ………… too short for her 42″ legs. It shows that her legs are way too long.

I did not find a good photo of Kate Tsui’s dress. Just had a quick look on the video clip. Cannot comment on her dress.

    4. First I have to say that I am not a Charmaine fan but I did watch the video and I did not see how she was ‘adding salt to injury’. Maybe some people are more sensitive but to me, it didn’t come across as being offensive.

On a side note, LOL at Him Law.. Dodo asked him a question about giving outs tips but instead, he probably misinterpreted the question and indirectly admitted that he already has a girlfriend

    5. Ok I can give a translation to the whole clip. But if ppl are using this to say that Charm is rude and adding salt on someones wound it’s not making any sense to me.

D:our TVB actresses are very likeable, have a great career and ppl are very intrested of their life.

      Derek: What about mr Right?

D:She is “sui fo po” which mean rich women so it might be hard to find MR right, is it right Charm?

      C:No lah

D: No as u don’t think it’s hard to find or no you haven’t find yours yet.

C: It’s not hard to find and I haven’t find mine yet. I want you to find yours first.

D: I’m not thinking of this, cause I have been through this. But u haven’t had a long term relationship

      C: actually I have but I haven’t told you

D: Have u any tips to her how she can find a boyfriend? (point the mic to Him)

So please tell me where is she rude or adding salt on someones wound. First of all. if someone is “hurting” one then I will say it’s the topic isn’t it rude to ask a women if she have find her mR right yet? If you know she haven’t been in a relationship for awhile and have been searching and u still commenting on that issue isn’t it rude to charm and adding salt on her wound? But u guys can turn the other way around. Dodo’s relathionship with Lui fang ended withuot any big mess.
Even Dodo herself could talk about it and joke about it why would it be like Charm is adding salt on her wound?

  5. Topic close pleaseee…I dont want to see anymore bad comments about Charmaine. She is just a simple woman. Let her enjoy her freedom and pride okay.

  6. Thanks Singapore Starhub for Ruco’s first TV King award. Very touching thank you speech to TVB, Starhub, the producer, his manager/ex-manager and ….. He also thanks me (as his fans who voted for him), but I want to thank him a lot for giving me many enjoyable moments in watching his acting, no matter it be a happy or sad series. Ruco, thanks you again.

  7. Congratulations to Ruco, Chin Pang. You are always an industrious person and i enjoyed all the series performed by you. you are a low profile person. You are getting more famous day by day. Congratulate again. Keep it up and keep your pure heart always.

  8. Congrats to Charmaine and Ruco, so happy for them, they deserve to win

  9. I’m a fan of Charmaine and I agree that she didn’t seem her usual self in this interview – normally she’s full of smiles and laughter, making jokes etc – but hey, maybe she was just having a bad day, or was feeling under the weather – who knows?

AS for the actual interview and people saying she was “hogging” the limelight – she wasn’t sitting there going on and on about nothing – the reporters continuously directed their questions AT HER – and therefore she answered.

Besides – this is just a small edited clip of the interview – how do you know the previous 5 minutes weren’t spent on Ruco?

  10. haha poor Charmaine! I saw the clip and i don’t find anything rude about it.
