Myolie Wu Leaves Door Open for a Flash Marriage
Myolie Wu (胡杏兒) attended a charity function yesterday, which was her first public appearance since announcing her new relationship with 40-year-old Philip Lee last month. The 35-year-old actress was in bright spirits as she calmly answered questions regarding her new boyfriend.
In 2012, Myolie broke up with Bosco Wong (黃宗澤). Since then, Myolie’s dating life has become a topic of interest for the Hong Kong media. With Phil in her life, Myolie joked that she can now put the discussion to rest.
Though Myolie and Phil have only been together for a few months, Myolie said they have already met each other’s parents. She laughed and said, “We are no longer young. Both of our parents are very pleased with each other.”
There have been rumors claiming that Myolie and Phil will have a flash marriage. Myolie did not directly deny the possibility, and gave an ambiguous response, “How should I say this? Of course, it will not happen tomorrow or the day after that.”
It was said that Myolie was determined to marry Phil and retire soon, thus she may not renew her TVB contract this year. Myolie said that is not the case, and clarified that she is still considering about contract renewal. “Whether or not I renew my contract has nothing to do with my boyfriend, but he would give me his opinion about it though.”

Lol, I know a couple who were only together for 2 weeks dating , they got married within a month (including wedding planning etc). No, the girl was not pregnant, but gave birth to a child two year into the marriage. Whether it be a few weeks, months or even years , no one can say how fast or slow it is to get married other than the two people in the relationship imo. If they both feel like marriage is now the right time, then why not?
Agree! Same as Barbie Hsu! Only 2 weeks and bam happily married! 3 months is considered more than enough since they’re recommended by friends and are on the same page! Both also ready to married! Besides their family are happy with this Myolie said so above. Why all the negativity? Length doesn’t matter if you’re on the same page! Much better than being on the same page at youthful age 24/25 and suddenly 8 years later discover both of you have ventured into different chapters! 8 years wasted with that guy!

By the way, none of us know for sure if Barbie Hsu is happily married or not. Only she and her husband would know for sure. She may be,she may not,especially since she jumped so quickly into the marriage. I know many couples who are still together for many years,but not 100% sure if they are truly happy or not. Many couples may last but being happy or not is a different story.
I guess some of you forgot about Barbie Hsu and her 20 day whirlwind romance. Length of dating time does not always guarantee that you will end up with anyone. You can date for years and years to no avail but then immediately click with someone within a short period of time and then end up together.
Myolie’s love life is starting to remind me of Barbie Hsu’s,especially if she ends up getting married so fast. But she is at that age, therefore none of us should be shocked if she suddenly announces that she gets engaged and then quickly married.

Any woman of marriageable age would be very happy when she finds THE ONE…but it is best to keep quiet until the wedding day. Talking so much in the initial stage will scare the guy off.
Hope Myolie will renew her TVB contract. Still wanna see her acting in TVB dramas instead of other new actress who get promoted which I think a lil but earlier.

Myolie is 35 and Phil is 40. They’re mature enough to be in ‘honeymoon period’. I believe both of them are dead serious since both parents already met others.

I like Myolie and am happy she found a guy who makes her happy. BUT … all the recently articles on her ‘new’ relationship made her sound like someone who is desperate. She’s been with the guy for 3 months and felt like she ‘hit the jackpot’, ‘he’s husband material’ so on and so forth. She sounds desperate and i hope she’s not scaring the guy away.
I agree that many many guys would get scared by the “M” word so soon but I think sometimes it so happens that both people are on the same page about things. And he is 40, he ought to know what he wants! She doesn’t seem like a desperate person to me. Maybe it’s the media painting her that way (because it’ll attract more readers) with the questions reporters ask…
what are you talking about? myolie is no where near desperate! she was just answering the media! besides that why would phil lee got scared with marriage talks? myolie confirmed they’ve already met the parents means they’re serious about this relationship. phil is already 40 and good enough for marriage!
If you ask me, it’s the media that would be scaring him away first if you think myolies so called desperateness will scare him. The media is pouncing on them to get every detail about their relationship, she’s merely just answering their invasive questions. She sounds genuine in her responses, I’d rather celebrities be some what to the point rather than beating around the bush and be denying the obvious truth , which makes the media create even more news and always chase after them over the same questions.

TVB even invite them to this talk show to promote their couple-ship and tell more details. So desperate for promotion and attention.
So obvious too that TVB plan to support promote their coupleship heavily by allocating special segment on TVB show for them all for promotion. So desperate. That drama wasn’t even good.
In this case,only Myolie is the celebrity so you cannot really compare her case to the ones where both of them are from the circle.
She may sound a little too eager, but can’t blame her as she is already 35.
What is flash marriage?
When a couple announces and gets married all of a sudden I believe. Like they give everyone short notice of their marriage and it just happens like a flash. Hence the term ‘flash’ marriage? Lol, someone correct me if I’m completely wrong. I think most times itslinked to the idea that the female is pregnant before being a married couple hence the reason why the marriage happens so fast.
hk media’s definition of “flash marriage” is couples getting married after dating for only a short time, usually less than a year.
moses and amy wasn’t a flash marriage case since they dated for a couple of years. it was a shotgun wedding, or “fung ji sing fun”. barbie hsu was a classic case!
Like for example Moses and Amy, I would consider their marriage to be a flash marriage.
Aimee and Moses are flash because of pregnancy. That’s different than flash because you just fee that both of you hit the jackpot trasure with each other which is Myolie’s case
they dated for 2 yrs how is that flash marriage? im sure moses knew she was the one from the moment he dated her simply bc he was just at that age. aimee is a beauty pageant holder, no duh he found her very attactive enough to marry.
i dont think myolie needs to wait til she is barren, both parties probably dated with marriage in mind. they are searching for life partner at this pt, not casual dating. im sure with each person’s successes, they are picky individuals so if they decide to date each other, they have already preselected in their minds already.

My, if you are listening: dont get married yet…you will regret it..you should date at least for 1 year before considering. One year is enough time to find out each other’s shortcomings….some may be very serious and no one can fix it… About the contract, dont go to China..Money is not everything…you need to stay in Hong Kong with Phil…China may give you more money…you will lose all your fans…we dont want to watch you in Mandarin…it is not the same…you are always a Hong Kong gilr.
