Nicky Wu Lives a Fulfilling Life
This year marks Taiwanese actor Nicky Wu‘s (吳奇隆) 26th year in the entertainment industry. Whether it is his role as the free-spirited Xiao Shi Yi Lang in Treasure Raiders <蕭十一郎> or his dominance as the Fourth Prince in Bu Bu Jing Xin <步步驚心>, Nicky upholds his God-like status like no other.
Enjoys Keeping Himself Busy With Work
Before Nicky became a household name, his childhood dream was to become a judo player. Later, he switched career goals to become a coach, then a teacher. Although he never had any dreams of becoming a celebrity, he joined Taiwanese pop group Little Tigers Team <小虎隊> in 1988 when the opportunity presented itself. Finding early fame in his music career, Nicky transitioned into acting. Establishing himself as one of the top artistes in Mainland China in the last decade, Nicky finally took the leap to television producer in 2012.
“In life, nothing is not difficult. Busy people will think that being busy is hard work and bored people will think that being bored is hard. If you’re going to spend time complaining, why don’t you find time to have fun?”
Professing to be a risk-taker, Nicky loves new experiences and challenges. He always pushes himself to reach a higher level. Maintaining a work-hard, play-hard mentality, Nicky may joke around with the production staff, but he always sets a high standard for himself.
With decades of experience under his belt, Nick shared his acting insights. “Each of my roles has a shadow of myself. Acting is like finding a part of myself that is closest to my role and magnifying that aspect, until I become that character.”
Never A Bored Moment
Although Nicky enjoys having fun while at work, he does not like being too idle. When he is not busy in the kitchen learning how to make congee, he is practicing his Chinese calligraphy, reading classic novels, golfing, and going scuba diving.
At 44 years old, Nicky still maintains a youthful charm. Without any special secrets to looking young, Nicky emphasized the importance of focusing on living in the moment and cherishing its preciousness. Nicky expressed that time cannot take away his curiosity for exploring the world around him at any age, and he will continue to strive and accept obstacles with open arms.

yawnz zzzzzz
good on him! I never find Nicky attractive for some reason lol
He has nice hair and he looks much better with clean cut hairstyle. The above haircut doesn’t look good on him.
Ditto, he just looks more and more ‘uncle’ with his haircuts, even in his younger days.
Also agree with Hannah – he’s not on my list as attractive. Nose, or hair.
Empathy and compassion? People can be too active with 1000 things to fill up thier lives or bored for many many inner reasons – I supposed the thought hasn’t crossed his ‘quick-fix’ solution mindset.
Boring life…there is more to life than work.
boring life? the article above mentions his hobbies outside work. Of course, he’s not as exciting as Edison Chen.
Each to their own. If he find happiness within what he deems important, as long as he does not in pursuing it hurt another, that is enough.
Nicky Wu for a better part of his young adult life had a difficult life. He has strong work ethics, born not out of choice but of necessity. His story is well known and his sacrifice for his family is well documented. He is now at a stage where he has a wife he loves by his side, a good career and money of his own. Soon there will be children. For someone who had to deal with such hardships as he had, he deserves to think what’s fulfiling life to him. His life was in the past was all work and no play. Now he balances both. Wish him the best.
And he is awesome as 4th prince.
P/s this man will never go bald. He has awesome hair.

You said it very well here. He is a good person. He may not be a cup of tea for some people, but he didn’t look so bad in his younger days. He deserves to be happy. Best wishes to him & LSS – a life time of happiness together.

Totally agree with you Funn.
When Little Tigers Band disbanded, he carried on and make a career out of acting (tv series, etc) and succeeded, slogging for over 10years. During that time he could have gone either way due to financial pressure but a solid upbringing and strong personal principles, saw him through. A testimony is how he handled himself during those dark days before and after his horrible divorce (good riddance to MYS).
He has always wanted a family (so good with his nephews, etc) and he’s in a really good place now. Wishing him and LSS happiness and babies soon…..:))
We all should know this what Nicky have today is all from his hard work and dedication. He earned every tiny bits of his success. and I’m even more happier for him that he finally settle down with LSS. I hope they will be forever together.
As for his look. He’s very handsome and though he’s getting old. He still very good looking. I think he age very well and his hair is amazing.
There so more to anyone rather than just looks. I think Nicky is attractive, but I feel that many that like him for more than just looks. Nicky has had a hard life and worked hard for many years to get what he has today. I remember him suffering when he was serving his military duty. I felt bad for him and am glad that he has made a successful comeback. Hope that he will be happy and successful from now on. It is great that he is LSS now. Hope they love and treasure each other always.
One needs to learn how to make congee?!! Never find him attractive either >_>
some people can’t make congee. it’s like some people who can’t even boil water.
Is this the guy that groped the girl? It confuses me if he is the same guy because everyone seemed to have forgotten what he did…
Did a search and need to clarify, its Benny Chan that I was thinking about.
