Introducing TVB Anniversary Drama “With or Without You”

The last TVB anniversary drama of 2015 ends on a happier note with the Song dynasty drama With or Without You <東坡家事>, starring Bobby Au Yeung (歐陽震華), Joey Meng (萬綺雯), Vincent Wong (王浩信), Jacqueline Wong (黃心穎), Harriet Yeung (楊詩敏), and Alice Chan (陳煒). A light-hearted comedy, With or Without You is a biographical drama of famed Song dynasty poet So Tung Bo, portrayed by Bobby Au Yeung.

Filmed in Wuxi, With or Without You is produced by Wong Wai Sing (黃偉聲), who created last year’s highest-rated series, Gilded Chopsticks <食為奴>. With or Without You will be premiering on October 26.

Synopsis

Northern Song official So Tung Bo (Bobby Au Yeung) is unable to forget his late wife and rejects the affections of Wong Yun Chi (Joey Meng). But Yun Chi, a gifted chef, finally wins Tung Bo’s heart after seducing him with delicious meals.

So Tung Bo believed that his family life would change for the better after his second marriage, but things did not turn out like what he wanted. He is constantly worried about his youngest sister So Siu Mui (Jacqueline Wong), and is afraid that her lover, the flirty scholar Chun Siu Yau (Vincent Wong), would eventually break her heart. He is concerned about his younger sister So Dai Mui (Harriet Yeung), who is unable to forget her first love Chan Kwai Seung (Tyson Chak 泰臣), now married to the overbearing Lau Yuet Ngor (Alice Chan), nicknamed the lion of the east river. He is continuously running errands for his younger brother, So Chit, and is troubled with the idea that his son might not like his second wife, Yun Chi.

In addition to family troubles, So Tung Bo also faces pressure in the royal court. On the one hand, he has to deal with the spoiled princess (Leanne Li 李亞男), and on the other, protect himself from the minister Wong On Shek (Pal Sinn 單立文). He is also tasked with the mission to teach the young emperor (Jonathan Cheung 張頴康).

In another turn of events, So Tung Bo almost falls for the trap of Khitan spy Kam Cho (Sire Ma 司馬賽兒). Although So Tung Bo successfully defends the Song empire from Khitan threat, the emperor begins to have suspicions on So Tung Bo’s loyalty. He finally accuses him of writing an anti-Song ballad, and sentences him to death.
