Edwin Siu and Priscilla Wong to Play Onscreen Lovers in “Behind-the-Scenes Players”

Real-life couple, Edwin Siu (蕭正楠) and Priscilla Wong (黃翠如), will play an onscreen couple in upcoming TVB drama, Behind-the-scenes Player <幕後玩家>.

At the initiation ceremony for the drama, Priscilla remarked, “I was so surprised! They actually asked us to play an onscreen couple.”

Edwin added, “In the drama, our characters go through a very tumultuous relationship, from initially falling in love, to subsequently having a huge misunderstanding. One of us then leaves for the United States and eventually returns to Hong Kong to try and win the other person over. There is also a scene that is an absolute romantic classic. It contains so many beautiful lines.”

On whether there will be a bed scene, Edwin laughed and said, “Yes, but it’s with Louis Cheung (張繼聰). In the drama, his character sublets a room from me. One night, he mistakes my room for his, and accidentally enters my room. I have very few bed scenes with Priscilla’s character, as her character apparently sleepwalks at night.”

As for whether there will be kissing scenes, Priscilla said coyly, “At the moment, I don’t know. We’re still filming the part where our characters are just friends.”

Bosco Wong to Play the Third Wheel

Bosco Wong (黃宗澤) will portray an owner of a Public Relations firm, who uses questionable tactics to achieve his ambitious goals. In the drama, Bosco is married to Elaine Yiu (姚子羚), keeps a mistress (Moon Lau 劉佩玥), and is also involved with Priscilla.

Bosco pointed out that the producer hopes to reflect the darker sides of society, in which many successful married men have extra-marital affairs. Asked if this is what he desires in real life as well, Bosco said, “No, it’s very troublesome. If one woman is difficult, then two would be even harder. Currently, I don’t even have [any woman in my life].”

I was about to say the same thing. Also, this role is similar to the real life love story of casino tycoon Alvin Chau with his wife Heidi and mistress Mandy Lieu.

I’ve been waiting for Bosco to film a new interesting drama with TVB but too bad, this one doesn’t sound so promising IMO. Besides Bosco, I am quite disappointed with the rest of the cast though. Really wish TVB would add either Tavia or Linda as the main female lead and pair up with Bosco to make the production more appealing. That said, I probably pass this series or may be I just watch Bosco’s section…

      1. @olivegarden Yea, Bosco has either been forgotten by TVB or he no longer wants to invest in TVB because his screentime and roles have been diminishing. Although I like Under the Veil, it wasn’t something to write home about.

It’s kind of strange that they have 3 actors who led their own series into one series, especially considering how they’re lacking leading men. More accurately, lacking all sort of actors and actresses…

Casting Krystal as male and female lead is not because of a lack of actors. This is the concept of the series. The theme of the series is people having the same face but different personality, i.e. no individual is exactly alike even though they look the same.

‘Under the Veil’ is a remake of an old TVB series of the same. In the old version, the characters Krystal played was also played by one female actress.

I think TVB cast so many lead actors in the series because they are hoping this series will be a hit. They even put it as anniversary series. The old version was a hit back when it first aired.

I like both version of 無雙譜. I find both version also entertaining.

      3. @krys327 TVB is not lacking leading actors. There are plenty of outstanding and talented supporting artists such as Mak Ka Lun , Dickson Lee, Eric Li, David Do , Jimmy Au. It’s just that TVB refuse to promote them to leading status despite their potential. They are still stuck with playing minor roles after all these years.

Yeah, TVB should give these actors a chance. I especially like Eric Li. He has a chance as 3rd lead in ‘No Reserve’. But too bad the new TVB exec deem this series not good enough to be aired (http://www.jaynestars.com/news/tvb-shelves-5-low-quality-dramas-from-broadcast/).

As for Mak La Lun. I don’t find him good looking, but, he deserves a chance because he is indeed a talented actor. Even if not the main lead, at least give him heavier role. He can definite handle it. Btw, since you like him so much, here’s a video for your. 🙂

I won’t put Jimmy Au in the same category as those who was not given a chance at all. He has his chance in the 80s. He was first lead in ‘Kay Moon Gwai Guk’ (奇門鬼谷) and also has many good roles. But, he left TVB for some years. People who left seldom gain back the good position they have before they left.

      5. @kidd I was looking forward to seeing No Reserve and The Last Healer In Forbidden City. It’s such a shame that TVB warehoused these five series and choose to air the mainland dramas instead.

Although Mak Ka Lun was not a particularly handsome man, I did find him quite charming and attractive during his younger days in the 90s. I’ve recently watched Mak Ka Lun in (實習天使) and I’ve noticed his face look so different now compared to just a few years ago. He seems to have undergone some kind of plastic surgery.

I started noticing Jimmy in The Blood Stained Intrigue. He was also the main lead in that series. His portrayal of Bak Jin Mo left a deep impression on me. It’s kind of sad to see him been relegated to minor roles nowadays.

      6. @jjwong Agree. TVB doesn’t want to promote Bosco anymore as he might not renew his contract. As for Bosco, it seems to me that he just takes whatever project to fulfill his per series per year duty with TVB to get it out of the way so that he can have the remaining time for other ventures.
Speaking of Under the Veil, it was a huge disappointment for me. I watched the series because of Bosco but he had so little screentime for a leading role, total of 2 or 3 episodes as the most. I guess he probably plays a supporting role in this drama as well.
