Bosco Wong and King Kong’s “Buddy Cops” Coming April 21
A series of new stills from the Hong Kong comedy action film Buddy Cops <刑警兄弟> has been revealed in preparation for the film’s release at the end of the month.
The vulgar buddy cop comedy stars Bosco Wong (黃宗澤) and King Kong (金剛) as young CID investigators who are forced to live together after their own single parents fall in love and get married. In the meantime, Bosco goes back to his clingy and controlling ex-girlfriend (Charmaine Fong 方皓玟) to investigate her boss, the leader of a triad (Gordon Lam 林家棟).
In the “R18” photos released by the studios, Charmaine is seen trying to violently seduce Bosco. In one photo, Charmaine engraved “I have AIDS” on Bosco’s chest while he is tied to the bed post.
The Category III movie, co-produced by TVB, will be released in Hong Kong on April 21 and Mainland China on April 22. It is directed by Peter Tsi (戚家基) and produced by Eric Tsang (曾志偉), who also stars. The movie features leading appearances by Kate Tsui (徐子珊) and Jordan Chan (陳小春).

Familiar actors. Definitely should keep track of Bosco’s progress You never know. 10 years from now he could be a big box office movie star.
@jimmyszeto
I think it’s about time Bosco should leave TV dramas and switch to film industry to fill out part of the gap as HK film is now still dominated by the veterans from 45+ but lack of actors from the age range of 20+ to 35+.
@olivegarden
I don’t think he can focus entirely on movies yet because he isn’t box office so won’t be paid enough and won’t be offered enough roles. Bosco is making a lot of money as the male lead in China so I suppose he could leave TVB and spread his time between China and movies. All depends on the length of contract he has with TVB though.
@jimmyszeto
Many artists have left TVB and headed North but not many found success as Mainland is a very competitive market though. Besides, TVB is also in partnership with a film production company so they can give Bosco movie projects and free time to work in China. Really hope he has a chance to work with Stephen Chow in near future, even supporting role will help…
@olivegarden
Johnny To is the director he needs to work for. Not Stephen Chow. Links to Stephen Chow does not mean the actor will guarantee to to used by other directors since he’s so disliked within the entertainment circle.
I can’t stand king kong. I don’t understand his appeal. Ppl who harshly judge actresses who can’t speak canto properly, what about him???
@jjwong
Hey, this movie was filmed back in 2012 when Bosco was not too “bony looking” as K9 Cop, eh..,
@olivegarden i didn’t know it was filmed 2012. Nice. His face does look a bit fuller. This movie looks silly, “mo lieu.” Kinda remind me of usa comedy Stepbrothers with Will Ferrel. I’m not oppose to giving it a watch; king kong though, ugh…
@jjwong
Yes, it was filmed between 2012 and 2013 but for some reason it couldn’t get to release earlier. Not a fan of King Kong either…Like Bosco’s mischievous look in the trailer and Kate’s buck teeth was kinda cute.
Looks funny!
