Wallace Huo’s Mother Urges Son to Marry Ruby Lin Soon
Ruby Lin (林心如) and Wallace Huo (霍建華) received a lot of blessings from friends and fans when they announced their romance via social media on May 20. The couple have been friends for over ten years, and according to Ruby’s manager, their close friendship did not blossom to romance until earlier this year, after Ruby’s 40th birthday in January.
According to the Taiwanese media, Ruby and Wallace have always had feelings for each other, but they cherished their friendship and hesitated to take the next step. Apparently, Wallace’s mother also knew about it. She said she was aware that her son liked Ruby for several months now, and she encouraged her son to pursue her.
“Whether or not he chooses to get married, I’ll respect his decision,” said Wallace’s mother. “As long as he is happy.” She revealed that Wallace once brought Ruby over to dinner a few years ago so she could meet her. She had a fantastic impression of Ruby, saying that she’s very pretty, laid-back, and grounded. “I trust my son’s eyes,” she said.
Wallace’s mother was surprised when she found out about Wallace and Ruby’s confession online. Asking why the sudden announcement, Wallace said, “Because it’s time.” Wallace’s mother then said, “You’re not young anymore. Get married soon.”
The couple are rumored to be getting married in Hawaii next year, but they have neither confirmed nor denied this report.

Lol. I love how the marriage rumors are so fervent immediately after the dating announcement. Would be great if they do tie the knot though!
The picture above, a scene from QSHF is very telling isn’t it? Ruby’s eyes shone every time she sees him. I do believe at that time she is already rather mad abt him but for Wallace it was a slower process. Anyway, I do believe marriage is next.
Mama Wallace has always liked Ruby from many many many years ago. What is there not to like?
I hope marriage bells soon. I wanna see Hu Ge as best man and Nicky drunk. Hawaii seems a bit far though for everyone’s schedule. Why not just get married in Taiwan? To avoid the media? Why not invite the fans as well? What a celebration it will be.
@funnlim More likely to mirror Nicky’s wedding rather than a big celebration. Both are low-profile.
@funnlim The announcement of their relationship signifies that they are in a very stable relationship. Ruby indicated in an earlier interview in May that she has never thought about marriage ever since she was in her 20s. But it may have been her “press response” to distract us from her real intentions.
We’ll see if Ruby and Wallace’s wedding rumors turn out to be true!
@funnlim I think Ruby pursued/liked Wallace 1st. I hope they will invite family & friends like Nicky Wu & LSS’ wedding – just people that are close to them. Yes. It would be fun if Hu Ge will be the best man & Nicky Wu will get drunk. I like to hear some inside jokes at their wedding about the couple also (like what Wallace said about NW & LSS).
