Kathy Chow Confirms Split from Boyfriend of Over 10 Years
Hong Kong actress Kathy Chow (周海媚), who received a resurge of popularity after starring in 2014’s historical period drama The Empress of China <武則天>, confirmed at a recent event in Taiwan that she has broken up with her boyfriend of over ten years.
On Thursday, Kathy made an appearance in Taipei to promote a Korean health brand. The semi-retired actress, known for her ageless beauty, wore a low-V, black lace dress to accommodate the grand event. Though Kathy will be turning 50 this December, she has maintained her youthful looks. Kathy did gain a bit of weight on her face, but her figure has not suffered from age at all.
When speaking about beauty and health tips, Kathy said, “The usual. Wake up early. Exercise. Walk my dog. Stay positive.” If a regular schedule is not possible due to irregular filming, Kathy suggested to use more facial masks to maintain skin moisture and elasticity.
Asking if her romance has had a hand in helping her keep up with her health, Kathy smiled and said, “Not at all, because we already broke up.” The actress and her boyfriend, a younger man known as Mr. Liu, dated for over 10 years.
Kathy said she currently has a very single life, and hasn’t come across any pursuers. “My dog is the one pursuing me everyday at home,” she said with a laugh. Kathy added that she doesn’t feel alone, as her dog is always by her side.
The Empress of China star then remarked that she hasn’t been to Taiwan in over five years, and looks forward to eat more Taiwanese snacks. She expressed that she loves nature and learning, and would like to partake in more behind-the-scenes production work in the future.
Asking if she wants to romance again, she said, “I’ll go with the flow.”

Well, that was sudden. I didnt think either of them were the baby-making type. It certainly didn’t seem like she was interested and she stated he rarely brought it up. That’s why they felt no need to get married.

Well you know what they say about haircuts and break-ups. These two tend to go hand-in-hand. Either that or summer’s here and she really needed a cut.
