Bosco Wong is a Diamond Bachelor
Touted a ” Diamond Bachelor”, actor Bosco Wong (黃宗澤) was recently reported to have a net worth exceeding a billion dollars.
Currently starring in the popular TVB series Forensic Heroes VI: Redemption <法證先鋒VI: 倖存者的救贖>, Bosco plays a tough guy deeply in love, who frantically searching for his missing wife (Venus Wong 王敏奕) and nears emotional breakdown. Sharing his romantic views in real life, he jokingly describes himself as “heartless” since he prioritizes work, and says he has no fantasies about marriage despite being single for many years.
Ponders Joint Burial with Friends in Taiwan
During the interview, the actor, who’s known for being filial, joked that his mother would be “dissatisfied with 9.5 out of 10 of his girlfriends”. With his close friends helping him to keep an eye on his dating partners, he has avoided any major pitfalls in his love life. Playing coy when asked if it has been long since he last dated, Bosco expressed contentment with his current life, he does not rule out the possibility of remaining single, adding, “But if one day fate brings me someone, there’s no escaping,”
While “brotherhood comes first” for Bosco, who doesn’t mind giving generously to his friends, he once got conned by a friend he had known for over 20 years, who later disappeared. “I found out eventually that he was a gambling addict. In the end, it’s his loss because he lost a group of great friends,” he shared.
Meeting up with his group of close guy friends whenever he has time off from work, Bosco raises the wild idea of them buying a piece of land in Taiwan which they all love, so they can be buried together one day.
“I don’t have any children, so I told my friends to remind their descendants to bring champagne when they visit our graves!” he said with a carefree attitude on the transience of life.
Silently Invests in Malaysian Film
In Forensic Heroes VI, Bosco’s character spends over a year searching for his wife. However, the actor candidly admits he’s “not that devoted” in real life and would probably not search beyond 3 to 4 months as he is “quite rational” about relationships.
“When I was younger, I just wanted passion. If we clicked, we’d date. But now that I’m older, there’s a lot more to worry about”, like considering if the other person has hidden motives, or are they after his “fame and money”.
Outside of acting, Bosco revealed that the monthly operational costs for his restaurants and food factory are at least seven figures. Recently, he also became a “rookie” film investor and jointly invested in a film project in Malaysia along with some friends. Refuting comparisons to film producer Louis Koo (古天樂), the actor says he is only dipping his toes into it, and points out matter-of-factly that he already supports the livelihoods of “several dozen families” through his F&B ventures.
