Mm yes, acting is inherently a risky business and most won’t venture into this industry unless there’s some safety net in place, like rich family or family connections. Those who did it without significant wealth only aspire for A job – any job that can potentially pay the bills, e.g. Chow Yun Fat and Stephen Chow.

But there are some that are talented and work hard even if they have family money, e.g. Moses, Raymond Lam, Mark Chao (esp Mark Chao), Esther Yu, etc.
