Aaron Kwok to Direct New Action Film

Aaron Kwok (郭富城) will be making his directorial debut for an upcoming action movie. As one of Hong Kong’s most bankable actors, Aaron has been hoping to direct his own movie for a long time. Aside from starring in the movie, Aaron is also involved in the script writing, but is not one of the film’s investors.

In a recent trip to Beijing, Aaron was struck with an inspiration that he turned into his first script. The film is currently in its pre-production stage and has gone through two writing drafts already. With the help of a professional screenwriter to put his ideas onto paper, Aaron said, “The whole story is swimming clearly in my head. I just lack the details. I am still not satisfied with the second draft.”

The movie is not based on Aaron’s personal experiences and is purely created from his imagination. Although the storyline remains simple, it will not lack depth. Each scene will be filled with details that touch upon the characters’ romantic relationships, family love, and friendships. The movie, like many of Aaron’s works, will include gripping action scenes and humorous dialogue.

Aaron will cast actors based on their suitability for the roles, instead of featuring his celebrity friends in the movie. “I will not be swayed emotionally [in my decision-making].”

Hoping that his directorial debut is a high-quality release, Aaron will take time to make sure all the details are handled properly. Admitting that his movie will be commercially driven rather than an artistic project, Aaron said, “I will definitely prioritize the box office. When there’s success at the box office, word of mouth will get out, thus proving that the viewers take notice of your movie. My movie is a commercial piece. I will film it for the viewers.”

Asked if his intention is to transition into a director in the long-term, Aaron replied, “Let’s see how this film performs first. Perhaps it will turn into a dud. But no matter what happens, it’s important to try different things in life. Since I have this dream, I should pursue it and have no regrets.”

  2. he is consider ageless…i noticed as the years gone by, somehow he looks even more define gentleman and much more handsome…if he ever have children, i can bet his kids will look very attractive and hotty

  3. For a pure chinese guy he is very good looking and he hardly aged a bit from the day he debuted.

    1. chinese guys (and gals) are not good-looking, unless they have western features – seems to be a common opinion among chinese themselves.

      1. Not in all cases. Tony leung Chiu Wai is considered good looking to many but he has more Asian features. But hey, maybe he is an exception?? It is true that many that are considered good looking have more western features.

      2. That is a misconception and with a tinge of racism. Have seen Chinese guys not mixed as handsome as any eurasians, etc. It is a matter of gene pool. As for the common beliefs by Chinese themselves, that is because they belittle their own gorgeousness. Even mixed can be very ugly. There is no general rule or exception. It is a matter of gene pool, packaging and taste.

      3. Yellow skin people like Japanese, Chinese, Korean is much more good looking than the whites.

      4. except most yellow skinned people prefer white skin and and look down on their own people who have natural complexions and single lid eyes.

Sometimes it seems that Asians are the most self-hating group.
