With the Lunar New Year coming up in less than three weeks, mainland China’s upcoming star-studded comedy film, Better and Better <越來越好之村晚>, is also drawing nearer.
This past weekend, new all-star character posters of the big-budget Chinese Lunar New Year film, Better and Better, were released online. Starring Aaron Kwok (郭富城), Tony Leung Ka Fai (梁家輝), and Sandra Ng (吳君如), the film also features a large ensemble of well-known Chinese film actors, including Xu Jinglei (徐静蕾), Wang Baoqiang (王宝强), May Wang (王珞丹), Jing Tian (景甜), Tong Dawei (佟大为), Ni Dahong (倪大红), Wu Gang (吴刚), Wang Jue (黄觉), and Zhang Yi (张译).
Max Mok (莫少聰), Liu Ye (刘烨), Zhang Ziyi (章子怡), Karen Mok (莫文蔚), Christy Chung (鍾麗緹), Annie Yi (伊能靜), Momo Wu (吴莫愁), Lam Suet (林雪), Bowie Lam (林保怡), and Liu Yiwei (刘仪伟), and other major stars will have cameos in the film as well.
Directed by Zhang Yibai (张一白) and Xie Dongshen (谢东燊), Better and Better features separate story lines that develop in tandem. A hardworking rich heir (Zhang Yi) and a geeky youth (Wang Jue) both fight the rights to arrange for the best Spring Festival. Many characters then come into play, tying up the separate story lines together.
Better and Better was filmed in December 2012 of last year. Eason Chan (陳奕迅) performs the film’s theme song, “Steady Bliss” <穩穩的幸福>.
Director Zhang Yibai expressed, “I hope that the audience will be able to enjoy the film and use it to happily celebrate for the upcoming, exciting 2013 Spring Festival.”
The film will be released in mainland Chinese cinemas on Lunar New Year day, February 10.
