Fiona Sit, Wallace Chung Part of All-Star Ensemble Cast in “Close Friend”
For her newest film, Close Friend <閨蜜>, Hong Kong director Barbara Wong (黃真真) successfully brought together an all-star cast that includes Hong Kong singer/actress Fiona Sit (薛凱琪), Hong Kong actor Shawn Yue (余文樂), and Hong Kong actor Wallace Chung (鍾漢良).
Close Friend, which will be Barbara’s first project after the 2013 romance film The Stolen Years <被偷走的那五年>, tells the story of three pairs of close friends and how they grow together through laughter and tears. The film, which recently unveiled its first character posters and preview, will reflect on the true meaning of friendship and hopes to bring a positive energy to viewers.
Though Barbara may not have the extensive filmography of some of her male director counterparts, her repertoire has helped her befriend many leading thespians in the entertainment industry. Apart from Fiona, Shawn, and Wallace, Close Friend will star Taiwanese actor/singer Vanness Wu (吳建豪) and Taiwanese actress Ivy Chen (陳意涵), as well as mainland Chinese actress Yang Zishan (楊子姍), who rose to prominence after her leading role in the 2013 film So Young <致我們終將逝去的青春>.
Close Friend also boasts a top-notch production crew, which includes award-winning composer Mark Lui (雷頌德), nine-time Golden Horse Best Sound Effect Award winner Tu Du Chih (杜篤之), and eight-time Hong Kong Best Film Editing Award winner Kwong Chi Leung (鄺志良). An inside source revealed that whether it is through the movie’s plot, scenes, or acting, the director hopes to break the current structures and use Close Friend to usher in a new film era.

Wallace Chung mainland Chinese actor? He is hong kong actor..
Well, he was never really popular/recognized in HK and he got famous in china perhaps so that qualifies him as being a mainlander now? haha LOL..
He still looks cute. 🙂
lol thats totally it! He is so well known in the mainland.
I was wondering why they said that Walllace is from Mainland too. Strange…
Ita,
Wallace Chung is a Hong Kong native, but found his fame in mainland. Have corrected the article.
I love most of barbara wong’s works so im definitely excited about this film! She always add a sensual touch to her movies which makes it so much more enjoyable. A lot of hk movies these days are so in-your-face, vulgar or nonsensical that her stuff is like a breath of fresh air from the stifling film market.
