Jackie Chan Joins “The Expendables 3”
Jackie Chan (成龍) will be on board to star in the ensemble action flick The Expendables 3, as reported by Ming Pao.
On June 3, Hollywood’s The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences hosted a dialogue session feted to the kung fu star’s global cinematic achievements, titled “An Academy Salute to Jackie Chan.” At the event, Jackie revealed that he has already signed on to appear in The Expendables 3, the third part to Sylvester Stallone’s macho hit film series.
At a press conference in Kuala Lumpur last year, Jackie revealed that he was sought out to star in The Expendables 2, which was released last August. However, due to his commitments to the film CZ12 <十二生肖> at the time, Jackie had to turn down the offer. Nonetheless, the martial arts legend yielded to a future collaboration, stating that he would more than happy to star in a sequel. Jackie said, “[Sylvester Stallone] did extend his invitation to the third movie, which I agreed on the condition that I will be appearing as more than just a minor role with a few scenes.”
Sylvester Stallone is back to produce and helm the film’s screenplay. It was reported that Sylvester is currently revising the script to add some additional scenes for Jackie.
Also confirmed to star are Nicholas Cage, Wesley Snipes, and Milla Jovovich of Resident Evil fame.
Directed by Patrick Hughes, The Expendables 3 will have an August 15, 2014 release in American theaters. Principal photography will begin in September.

Reckon as yet another stale episode of an old lame chimpanzee jumping around with the same line of muttering broken English, trying hard to be funny. Sorry, enough is enough, definitely not my cup of tea anymore *yawn*
haha you’re right. after the first one – i had more than enough of geriatrics jumping around blowing up things. come on – you got better things to do for 1.5 hours.
I don’t even pay attention to what Sylvester Stallone says because it takes too much effort to try and understand!
I do like a Jackie Chan movie though, so I will look forward to this. Hope Jason Statham rejoins the cast as well.
Sylvester Stallone, Nicolas Cage, and Wesley Snipes are all B Actors past their prime. Who is going to pay good money to watch them?
Their fans. Don’t be surprised there are a lot of male fans all grown up who wants to see their favourite action heroes in ONE movie.
I liked cage as cameron poe in con air.
The Expendables movies are a guilty pleasure of mine. They’re super cheesy but I love it anyways.
I think Sly Stallone will not stop making his Expendables movies until he has cast every action hero of every generation!!
I really hope so;) I really like the idea of casting all the legends from each era!
jacky is idiot.
