Louis Koo Makes Millions With Help From Feng Shui Masters
This year marks Louis Koo’s (古天樂) 20th year in the entertainment industry. Since entering TVB in 1993, Louis had successfully changed his image from pale-faced TV idol to today’s movie superstar. Despite minor missteps, Louis’s career had sailes smoothly under the guidance of several famed directors, including Johnnie To (杜琪峯).
Louis’s more recent successes Overheard <竊聽風雲> and Don’t Go Breaking My Heart <單身男女> further raised his profile, attracting endorsement deals and major film projects. With ample money-making opportunities, Louis is now one of the top-earners in the industry, making over $100 million HKD per year.
The secret to Louis’s good fortune was recently revealed. Reporters discovered that Louis sought guidance from a well-known Thai fortune teller to prevent bad luck and to boost his career. Known as the “Calculator Oracle”, the fortune teller is said to make accurate predictions with his calculator by entering a client’s birth date using just his right thumb and pinky finger. Louis also visits a Feng Shui master in Hong Kong to further improve his luck. Popular among Hong Kong celebrities, Master Miu was rumored to be the force behind Nick Cheung (張家輝) and Wayne Lai’s (黎耀祥) meteoric rise to the top of the entertainment industry.
Heeding the feng shui masters’ advice over the past ten years, Louis’s career quickly gained steam, filming up to six movies a year in addition to countless advertisement and endorsement opportunities.
Although his finances seem secured under the guidance of these two grand masters, Louis remains a hard-working actor. Currently filming Benny Chan’s (陳木勝) The Cartel War <掃毒> in Thailand, Louis is often seen visiting the gym, toning his body for his role as a narcotics police officer. Despite sustaining several major injuries during his previous films, Louis continues to perform his own stunts on the set. With his fearless determination and blessings from the two masters, Louis will surely be able to take his career to greater heights.

Wow, so rich!
I wonder how true any of this feng shui stuff is? or is it just a coincidence that is he making so much and is therefore giving them all of the credit??Or is it due to his good deeds from his heart to charities? Anyways, congrats to Louis!! HE has a successful career now so hope he will have a happy love life too.
i wonder too…
I’ll admit to be a skeptic when it comes to all these superstitious stuff like feng shui, that they work similarly to placebo effects…
…but I’m only human, and maybe there are greater forces out there…
I always thought is PS that make him so hot.
Is spray tanning the new PS now? He looks the same as he was when he was very very fair.
Louis looks the same to me ever since the day that he debuted. The only thing is at times his skin is darker and at times it is more fair…
I thought there were rumours of him having plastic surgery?
I feel his jaw/eyes is more defined as compared to the past.
Really?? If he did, it was really really minor that many would not even notice it.
Uh, NO, his success is probably due to a combination of being at the right place at the right time, meeting the right kind of people who were able to help him, his looks (which HK people seem to really like), the tanning bed, his agent, his hard work, and a load of other factors. Feng shui is not one of them.
I think a fortune teller once told him to be famous he must be tanned. He followed the advice and look where he is now.
but cause-and-effect wise, a feng shui master might say that it’s all due to good feng shui that Louis is able to meet the right people and be given good opportunities….idek
No, Louis didn’t want to apply make up and thus tanned himself to avoid it. ->Newspapers
Yeah right! BS!
I knew it because some of my friends and colleagues are fans of Louis Koo. So no need to be sarcastic. If you read the newspapers you would know as well, but I am assuming you are probably living in a different country.
Who said that everything written in the papers is true?? Also, fans are just fans and who said they knew everything??? Sorry but even family and close friends don’t know certain things about a person so how can fans know??
This is INDEED TRUE. go watch his interview with Maria Leitao if you don’t believe it. He said it himself.
“…due to a combination of being at the right place at the right time, meeting the right kind of people who were able to help him,”
Exactly then, this is feng shui, if not, you think every person can be at the right time at the right place place, meeting the right people?
The universe works in mysterious ways.
Personally, I think his stint in jail sobered and toughened him up. Gives a man priorities. Good for him, though!
Good karma that he possess i would say. Nothing to do with feng shui or fortune telling.
I think so too since he does charity work without publicizing it and does it out of the goodness of his heart. People believe too much in feng shui and fortune telling and give it all of the credit when their life goes well.
i agree….i like Louis b/c he helps people out without any reporters following him. “Give and You Shall Receive”.
I am always the impression that only OLDIES like to believe in this Feng Sui and superstitious stuff, I guess i was wrong. Haha LOL….It seems lots of asians can be really extreme with the subject.
I thought so too, one of my asian colleague is in her 40’s and she truly in any good fortune feng shui stuff and also very superstitious. Most younger generations don’t believe such things i think it is mostly older individuals.
About Feng Shui masters, I’ve always wondered why most of them are not that rich yet. If they can guide/instruct others to richness and fame, why are there struggling FS masters? Just wondering…
About Louis Koo, I prefer his acting when he was n TVB. He seems more realistic then. Now he seems to don a subtle mocking smile or a tense shock face in all his roles.
I think I can answer that.
a. most of them are hacks
b. the genuinely popular ones write books, make TV appearances and are rich
c. Not every feng shui master can be rich
d. some chose to be not rich but be honest in their trade
e. maybe some are like fortune tellers who can’t profit from revealing secrets from the heaven or face dire consequences. So some do say fortune tellers do not lie but do not reveal all in fear of dire consequences.
Anyway feng shui is not fortune telling. It is more like arranging your environment to achieve that comfort, balance and you may not believe it, but I do think there is science as to some reasonings. Like some casinos or shopping complexes never made profit and consulted a reputable feng shui master and voila! Rich! Even westerners believe in putting an aquarium here, a pot of plant there.
Maybe there is a code of conduct that feng shui master can’t profit from themselves directly.
I heard that people who truly have the power for fortune telling, are psychics, etc… never have a long life because they often reveal too much to others about their fate. I wonder if that is true??
all luck and destiny.
Louis is rich because he is a hard worker and a good actor. Karma might have something to do with it since he is also very charitable.
Maybe going to these Feng Shui masters gives him the confidence that he thinks he lacks in order to seize opportunities and gain more confidence.
Luck is what you make it, seeing opportunities where others don’t and making an good effort in everything you do/attempt.
– It’s nothing to do with Feng Shui. It’s all Louis.
I just hope he isn’t paying them a lot for these predictions.
I bet he made good decisions as well which also played a part in what he has now.
wow! May it b Asians/Europeans FS is always a fascinating subject n does it work?
the rich are chosen
