“The Voice of China” Movie to Bring Warmth during Christmas Season
Popular reality talent show, The Voice of China <中國好聲音>, will release a movie spin-off during the Christmas season. Titled The Voice of China Turns Around for You <中國好聲音之為你轉身>, the film will bring together contestants from the first and second seasons in a warm and uplifting story.
Helmed by Singaporean director Yee-Wei Chai (蔡於位), the movie focuses mainly on story of Li Ziyang and Wu Peishan. Ziyang (Season One contestant Li Daimo 李代沫), dreams of performing in front of an audience, but suffers from stage fright due to a painful memory. His world is turned upside down when he meets Peishan (Season One runner-up Momo Wu 吳莫愁), whose lively but stubborn personality inspires him to chase his dreams again. As the two strive to fulfill their dreams, they also fall in love.
Recently released promotional posters revealed the movie’s many characters, each of them standing beside a window, through which one can see a chilly, winter scene. Each contestant is posed in a half-turn, giving the viewer a smile or a contemplative look, while warm colors and glowing candles provide a welcoming ambience.
This film will be the silver-screen debut for many of the contestants, as well as for rock musician Wang Feng (汪峰), who served as a judge for Season Two of The Voice of China. According to reports, either he or Harlem Yu (庾澄慶) will be stepping down as a judge for the upcoming third season, though Na Ying (那英) and A-Mei Chang (張惠妹) will remain.
The show’s head director revealed that Taiwanese singers Jay Chou (周杰倫) and Leehom Wang (王力宏) have been invited to serve as judges for Season Three, which is expected to begin in June of next year.
