Whitney Hui and Ava Yu Fight For Lead Status in “Lan Kwai Fong 3”

On August 20, the cast and crew of Lan Kwai Fong 3 <喜愛夜蒲3> held a blessing ceremony to announce its new character lineup. Previously only a guest star, Whitney Hui (許亦妮) has since been promoted and attended yesterday’s event as one of the leading actresses. While rumors claimed that director Wilson Chin (錢國偉) preferred Whitney and has given her the opportunity to replace former star Dada Chan (陳靜), Ava Liu (雨僑) clarified that she is the one who will take over some of Dada’s bed scenes while Whitney will simply take over Ava’s previous role.

Dada Chan’s sudden decision to retire earlier this month left Lan Kwai Fong 3‘s production team in a scramble to fill her starring role. Wilson Chin was reportedly angry about Dada’s betrayal and gave the executive order to write her character completely out of the script. In just ten days, the cast was re-shuffled, new pairings decided, and several supporting roles were promoted to lead status.

Some reports say that Whitney will take over Dada’s role as the first female lead. When asked to comment, Whitney expressed excitement over her newly added screen time but denied that she is Dada’s replacement. Meanwhile, Ava’s management company hinted that Ava will take over Dada’s role. When asked who is the true female lead, Ava said, “My original character was given to Whitney. Some of the scenes were changed. I do have more bed scenes now.” Ava shared that she will take over a chest-touching scene originally written for Dada and a Korean male model, and added that she is looking forward to see how Whitney will interpret her original role.

Jeana Ho (何佩瑜) was also at the event and showed off her cleavage in a dress with a V-shaped see-through cutout. Jeana will share a wet-kissing scene with Alex Lam (林德信), and joked that she has asked Alex to grow a beard as she prefers manliness over a muscular physique. When asked if she has kept in touch with her good friend Dada, Jeana revealed that Dada is currently resting in Australia. “She was very stressed out in Hong Kong and a bit depressed. She is in [Australia] to relax… as a friend, I hope she will recover soon and hurry back to Hong Kong. She should not listen to others’ opinions.” When asked if someone had urged Dada to quit the industry, Jeana said she does not know and did not comment further regarding Dada’s sudden decision.

Ronan Pak (白健恩), who plays a medical student in the film, is happy to share screen time with busty co-stars Jeana, Celia Kwok (郭穎兒), and Mika Siu (蕭美卡). When asked if he is worried about being able to keep up with the three sexy ladies, Ronan joked that it will be as easy as drinking milk. He revealed that he will have bed scenes in the film, although he is unsure of the degree of raunchiness. When asked if he would be willing to show off his buttocks, Ronan said, “I would not say no if my partner is willing. It would be unfair otherwise.”
