2012 Metro Radio Hits Music Awards: Eason Chan and Joey Yung Receive 4 Awards Each
The 2012 Metro Radio Hits Music Awards was held in the evening of December 27, giving out a total of 163 awards. Big winners of the night, Eason Chan (陳奕迅) and Joey Yung (容祖兒), both carried home four big awards. Joey received the Top Song, Top Mandarin Song, Most Played Song, and Singer of the World awards. Eason also won four awards, including Singer of the World award.
Popular singers, Khalil Fong (方大同), Raymond Lam (林峯), Twins, Fiona Sit (薛凱琪), Kary Ng (吳雨霏), Kay Tse (謝安琪), and Hins Cheung (張敬軒) all attended the event.
Adason Lo (羅力威), who attended the awards presentation for the first time this year, had an outstanding performance and won the Newcomer Male Songwriter title along with two other awards. Khalil Fong received four awards last night for his outstanding performance as well. Other singers including Raymond Lam, Hins Cheung, Kay Tse, Fiona Sit, Eric Suen (孫耀威), Paul Wong (黃貫中), Kary Ng, and Jade Kwan (關心妍) all received three awards. The Newcomer Female award was given to Sita Chan (陳僖儀).
Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣), who was dressed in a sexy red dress, won Best Female Singer award along with G.E.M. Tang (鄧紫棋) and Jade Kwan.
A new rule was in effect for this year’s awards presentation, where there would be no awards for absent singers. Singers that did not attend the presentation and lost their chances for the awards included Miriam Yeung (楊千嬅), Denise Ho (何韻詩), Hacken Lee (李克勤), Janice Vidal (衛蘭), William So (蘇永康), and Leo Ku (古巨基). Ngok Mei (岳薇) initially planned to attend, but did not make it because she had a fever and could not board her flight to Hong Kong. Her reason was an accepted excuse, and she did win the Top Mandarin Song award.

Omgg I agree! These awards have no meaning if everyone who goes will get one! It’s always Joey and Eason that gets the awards because they are the “seniors”.
Well I think this year is certainly not boring as it was a real great surprise when G.E.M. got three awards, especially two of them were 新城勁爆年度專輯大獎 / 新城勁爆年度歌曲大獎 Both are quite big awards which she deserves but surprisingly there is no news about it.
Gem has the potential to win Asia pacific best female singer as she is quite popular in Taiwan and china.good luck to her.
But it’s Linda’s first time getting female singer award. I guess she didn’t really deserve it and I was shocked when I saw her on the list for that award, but she did improve from previous years on a few of the released songs. She did handle those songs better.
This award ceremony is known to distribute pork chops. The category of their awards are stupid too.
OMG….are my eyes playing tricks or what? Joey Yung seems to be wearing the same outfit which Joe Chen wore in some award ceremony in Guangzhou about two weeks back. While walking on the red carpet, Joe Chen tripped and fell embarrassingly…..
