Andy Lau Releases New Song for Tao Ti Commercial
After the debut of Andy Lau’s (劉德華) Tao Ti tea commercial last week, the commercial’s complementary single, “Living Together for Our Remaining Years” <餘生一起過> was released. The heartfelt ballad is composed by Andy himself. The lyrics, also written by Andy, are about the values of unconditional love and support.
The 30-second long ad, with the phrase “Natural, Free, Simple, Perfect,” features Andy spending time with a zebra. Filled with peaceful settings of wide green pastures, the ad was filmed in Bangkok, Thailand earlier this year.
Since 2000, Andy has been a spokesperson for the tea-based beverage company, Tao Ti. Every year, the 51-year-old actor will take time off from his film schedule to shoot a commercial for the company’s latest products.
With the products emphasizing its natural ingredients, Andy’s string of ads for Tao Ti usually consists of the actor spending time outdoors in natural settings. His ads are always supported with a full-length complementary single and music video, which are usually released a few days after the ad’s debut.
Entering into his thirteenth year endorsement of the Tao Ti brand, Andy is now reportedly paid $13 million HKD per ad. However, Andy’s management company from Taiwan, Focus Group, declined to comment on Andy’s salary for Tao Ti’s latest commercial, expressing that the information is confidential.
In related news, Andy and Sammi Cheng (鄭秀文) will reportedly sing the theme for their new crime thriller Blind Detective <盲探>. Directed by Johnnie To (杜琪峯), Blind Detective is scheduled to open in theaters on May 2, 2013 in Hong Kong.

Was at Central the other day, the image of Andy Lau holding the reins of a zebra made me want to drink some “18 Leaf Tea”.
Taste the freshness!
Andy still looks good for his age.
