Chinese-Korean Boy Band, TimeZ, Releases “Really Really Want You to Know”

TimeZ is a new Chinese-Korean boy band which debuted in October 2012. Korean entertainment company CJ E&M, and Chinese agency, Super Jet Entertainment, joined forces to establish the new pop group, hoping to appeal to fans across Asia. The boy band’s first single, “Hooray for Idols” <偶像万万岁> was released on October 18, and the group made their debut performance on South Korea’s music program, M! Countdown.

TimeZ is comprised of four Chinese members – Mao RuoyiLiu GuanxiTian YichenKong Shuhang – and two Korean members, Kim Seong Hwan and Lee Hyeong Joo. The group has since released three singles since their debut, and their latest single, “Really Really Want You to Know” <好想好想让你知道>, was released on doomsday, December 21.

“Really Really Want You to Know” was written and arranged by Korean composer, Han Sang Won (韓相元). The group also hired well-known Chinese lyricist, Zhang Zhang (张彰), to write the lyrics.

The music video of “Really Really Want You to Know” sees the six members wearing school uniforms, dancing and singing in a vast, green meadow. As expressed in the song, TimeZ hopes that everyone would have the courage to speak out from their heart. Living through doomsday is like pushing the restart button in their life, and they hope that they could bring courage to everyone through their music.

TimeZ stated, “This song is a very suitable confession song. We will use our truthful voices to melt the heart of your loved one. We would also like to say the same thing to our fans. You guys are very important to us, and we want to be someone that you can rely on. We want to be someone who can give you happiness.”

  1. This boyband is too “pretty” and polished for me. Not a fan of this style of boyband. And yes, their makeup is really obvious. Too much actually.
